Does your small child wear the magic bands?

I have two small children that will be going to Disney with us. But I'm worried about the magic bands. I feel like they would either not want to wear them (and fidget with them the whole time) or love them and want to take them off and play with it. My question is how have any of you handled this? I guess my wife and I can wear both of them on our arms if need be?

Also, if we buy the dining plan...Could the quick service restaurants scan my magic band and deduct the meals for my wife and kids' or would they need to present theirs at the pay counter as well? The reason I'm asking this is because sometimes I like for them to go ahead and grab a seat and I will get the food. I didn't know if they had to be present for their magic band to be scanned or if the restaurants can do it all from my magic band. If that makes sense. Thanks!

The last time we went to Disney my youngest was about to turn 3. She wanted to wear her magic band bc we all had ours on. She thought it was the coolest thing ever.

Only one person has to go through the line and pay for everyone's meal at the QS restaurants. Your band will show all the meal plans.

DGD has been wearing her MB since they came out. She was 6. Never been an issue, never lost one. They adjust to fit them just fine in our experience.

Many little kids wear them.

But no one has to wear them all. Yiu could just put the bands into a purse or backpack. Easy.

They also sell the magic keepers now so you can take the center puck out and put it in a magic keep and then keep that on a lanyard. I'm assuming they sell them at the park (I'll know for sure at the end of the month when I go)... basically my plan because last time DD didn't want to wear it is to buy the magic keeper there if it becomes a problem and I think keeping it on a lanyard will be easier...

My daughters turned five on our last trip and did just fine with the bands. They thought they were great (particularly since they had their names on them). I was so worried that they would take them off and lose them or complain about them all the time (especially since it was really hot). I was ready to carry them in my purse or wear on the opposing wrist if it came to that. In the end, the only person in our group who had a problem was DH who lost his on our first day (he didn't secure it properly). I think they are actually pretty tough for little hands to remove if you put them on right (not sure about the newer style though).

We've been twice with my daughter and each time she wore it for a bit and then I wore it the rest of the time. It worked out perfect.

One thing to mention, god forbid your child ends up getting separated from you. If they are wearing a magicband the CM that finds them can scan the band and immediately call the cell phone number attached to the account.

DD wanted to wear it most of the time at 4 & 5yo. She was more fussy with it at 3yo. Even still she occasionally doesn't want to wear it but has always been good about asking me to hold it, she has never been one to pick at it.
YDS wanted his so bad at 2yo, but it did pop off of him once, I don't know if he was messing with it or not.

My kids are 7 and have worn them for 5 or so trips. I just tell them they have to keep them on or they'll get kicked out... LOLOLOL! It's worked so far! Plus we always add skins or stickers to them so they REALLY want to wear them and show off!

My son is 7. We bought Bit Belts to help hold the Magic Band closed. The adults will have them, too, so he can see he's not the only one. It's a little extra layer of protection. They also fit on FitBits.

At ages 2 and 3, my daughter wore her MB probably 40% of the time. She started mornings with it, but usually took it off at some point. We reminded her a lot, "When you want to take it off, hand it to Daddy." So she was really good about that. She did like to scan it for rides and to get into the hotel room, so DH just kept it in his pocket and would give it to her temporarily when we approached a ride or our hotel room.

My DD usually hates wearing anything like that, but once she realized that she could open the room door with it, she was all over wearing it. That little bit of power went right to her little head!

My ds did not wear his at 3. My husband kept it in his pocket. This past October at age 5 he wore it the entire time.

You can buy a magic band "Keeper" and have an adult hold it. I am getting one of these retractable key rings for mine.

My 4 year old wore his with no issues. He liked swiping it for fast pass and park entry.

My 2 year old son loved tapping the tap styles with everyone else. Some of the CMs pointed out that he got a special blue light. So we have had no problems with him or the girls covering ages 2 to 8. But each child is different and you can always take it away and be the keeper.

My DD was 4 and my DS was 7 when we last went and they both wore their MBs with no issues. No complaints and they didn't come off.

I'm at Disney now and my 18 month old refuses to wear his. It's ok because he doesn't technically need it.

Also, I lost my Magic Band today. First park day, 15 minutes into the day. I was totally panicking but less than 5 minutes at guest relations got me a new Magic Band in the same color as the missing one. So, while it's obviously annoying if one is lost, it's a very easy fix (thankfully).

My 2 year old refused it the entire trip. My 4 year old wore it sometimes, because he liked to scan it but maybe half the time he wanted it off and I carried it in our bag. My 6 and 8 year olds wore it without any problems.
