If I call and change to the AP code, will my ressie number change? Or will they apply the new rate to my existing ressie?

Thanks,

Tom...

I just did this this morning.

The CM I spoke with transferred my new rate to my old ressie. She said my ressie # would stay the same and that I would get a new confirmation sheet with the new rate on it.

My original rate of $198.69 for Poly Garden View stays on my credit card and I simply pay the lower balance upon my arrival.

My new rate is $182.00 which included the taxes. Which saved me an additional $117/for the week.

:)

It depends on how your original reservation was made. My original was Disney Club with WTDC, when I switched to the code last week it became a CRO reservation, so it had to be rebooked and the old one cancelled, the confirmation # is different number of digits.

Just got off the phone with CRO and they said there were no rooms available for the dates I currently have with the AP discount. Can this be true? I already have the room and I was wondering why they couldn't just apply the new rate to my current ressie. It would've save me an additional $77.00.

Oh well...

Tom

I dunno Tom . . .can it be possible that AP discounts are no longer available for your week? I would try and call again and see what they say . . .maybe they weren't looking too hard?

It's possible that there are no rooms for your dates with the AP discount. If most of the rooms at your resort for your date are booked, they may not make the AP discount available. The idea of offering discounts is to get unbooked rooms filled, if most are already booked there is no reason to offer a discount. I would keep calling though. You may want to check if the discount is available for any of your nights. Someone else posted that they were able to get a discount for 3 nights by splitting the ressie.

I've had reservations where they kept the same number when I used a code, and changed the number when I used the code. I think it really depends on the CM you get, and if they know what they are doing!:):D:)

I changed my AKL ressie twice (once for the code and once for AP) and kept the same # for both. I had a AAA res before.

Shennonandtom. Keep calling !! I had heard this so many times so I tried it.I had a reservation made through WDWtravel. my total was $3978.24 for a room only at Fort Wilderness for 16 nights. I then called and got my Disneyclub discount of $596.80 (well worth the $39.00 a year for membership). At the time I asked about a code discount for AP holders and she checked and told me it was no good. I kept looking on mousesavers and decided to try again by calling CRO which they tell me try harder. Well the lady at CRO told me it was a WDWtravel ressie so she would have to transfer me. The lady at WDW travel was very nice and when given the code she checked it and said "yes this will save you some more" . I nearly fell over when the savings was another $912.10. This brought my $3978 ressie down to $2469 for a total savings of $1508.09 So KEEP CALLING !!!! Another thing some people don't know is if your first night of your stay is in off peak season the rate stays off peak for the whole trip. I tried to book starting Dec19 (the last day of off peak) and was told there was no availability, she asked if i could come on the 20th. I said yes but that would put me in peak season wouldnt it? She replied yes, let me look farther. She came back & said she could fill my request if I came in on the 17th, 2 extra days on my trip & a huge savings. So sometimes it pays to book a day earlier even if you cant be there the first night. I am lucky and can be there earlier.

Well, I just tried again and no luck. They said they can't just give me the AP rate on my existing ressie without a room with the AP code being open. I guess the $199.00 rate will have to do:D . That is still the lowest rate I have ever paid for the GF and I can't complain.

Tom...

Depending on how flexible your dates are, try starting a day or two earlier or moving it back a day or two. From what I understand, they put in your dates and the system tells them yes or no on the rate for the whole stay. They would not know if it was only one or two days on one end of your stay that was the problem.

You could also see if you can get the rate for part of the stay. That would involve two different reservations. They would require two deposits and you take the risk of having to switch rooms in the middle of the stay. They might even switch you to the better rate for the whole stay at check-in.
