DH and I walk every day and there is one house on our route that never fails to make us laugh and shudder. It is obvious that a severely afflicted packrat lives there.
At this house, it is every holiday year round. The halloween skeletons mix with the Christmas icicles. The bushes are filled with cobwebs and candy canes. Lacy valentine hearts are pasted into the upstairs windows while bedraggled red white & blue bunting sags below.
We have counted 27 EMPTY bird feeders strewn among the trees. What a cruel hoax for the birds!
The back yard is filled with piles of plastic wading pools, toys and moldering bags of potting soil.
The garage door is buckled and warped--it is closed, but bulging out with unseen stuff. Needless to say, the cars are in the driveway.
The front door is frequently open, and we can see that the staircase and bannister are piled high with coats and boxes. Just a narrow path up the stairs.
Don't get me started on the lawn ornaments.
Funny thing is, the house next door is immaculate and barely looks lived in. The owners have planted a dense hedgerow along their property line---wonder why!!
