Does your college alma mater normally qualify for March Madness? What are the chances for your college this year?🏀🏆🏟️:-)

Heck no! :teeth:

But Loyola was down the street so to speak so I have rooted for them the couple of times they're made it. ;)

I will also root for the college in Charleston, SC cuz one of my sons lives near them.

And yes that is how I make my March Madness picks!! :rolleyes1

My University has qualified 10 times in 113 years. Not likely in my uneducated opinion.

Zero. Too many injuries. They were worried about whether or not they'd even win a game this season. The last time Cal was in the NCAA Tournament they had four future NBA players including Jaylen Brown. Still didn't win.

I went to Cornell, so even if there were to get the automatic bid (do the Ivies still get an automatic bid?), it's not like they'd go past the first game, hahaha. DH went to Syracuse. I'm not sure how they are doing, but we've seen some pretty amazing basketball since 1985, including a National Championship! GO ORANGE GO!!!

yes - men’s and women’s - I personally have attended many many NCAA BB tourneys

Every certified conference gets an auto bid. I'm pretty sure the Ivy League gets one. If there's a conference tournament, the auto bid goes to the winner. Otherwise it goes to the conference regular season champion.

Never been to a game. Went to NIT home games a few times, but that's because they allow them to be hosted by the teams.

In 2013 I actually went to take a look at open practice in San Jose since I was working in Silicon Valley. I think I bought a T-shirt. And that was considered a gift since Cal was sent there rather than some far flung location.

Nope, I went to a small New York state school (SUNY), with Division 3 athletics. Sorry, I have no interest in March Madness. Basketball is my least favorite team sport.

Sometimes. It was more common in a couple of previous eras, but hit-or-miss these days, mostly miss.

NCAA owns the rights to the name.
NCAA runs the DII and DIII tournaments.

Well - I was really wondering about the meaning of the topic, as well as whether or not the NCAA refers to the D-II and D-III Tournaments as "March Madness". I was thinking that the topic could include the D-II and D-III Tournaments.

Alma Mater #1 Bachelor's : sometimes.
Alma Mater #2 (Post-Bac): You betcha! Just about every year! 1997 NCAA Champs. Basketball is BIG down here in the Old Pueblo! Go Cats!

No. Never during my time there. And after I graduated ( During the Regean Administration) a few times. DH's school does better but not on an every year basis recently.
I am sure mine won't make it this year. DH may a chance depending on how they do in their conference tournament.

Just once I can remember - and they were a 16 seed. They won the big west tournament and got in that way - with a losing record for the season.
