Does your cat ever do this?

I was trying to do some paperwork earlier and suddenly one of our cats jumps into the middle of what I'm looking at. He lies down, blinks at me and lets out a HUGE purr. I kept pushing him down but he came right back. I should have gotten mad but that purr was much too cute. Anyway, I gave up and came to the DIS for a while.

Does your cat do this? Or anything else when immediate attention is required?

Even odder, does anyone's dog do this?

Yes my cat always does that. If I am reading the paper or trying to write in my cheque book (like tonight), she will jump up and sit right in the middle of where I want to look. Then she proceeds to attack my pen or my papers or anything else that gets her attention.

Mine lays on the keyboard. Hard to DIS properly with a cat on your hands as you type. I have tried explaining this to the cat, he really doesn't seem to care!

I have a CPU tower on the ground, and my cat would sit on that and rub against my hands while I'm typing on the keyboard. If I ignore her, she knows to get in front of my monitor and lie where she is completely blocking it. That'll get my attention! And it does. I think my cat gets jealous of my computer sometimes!!

I don't have a cat, but my puppy does that. He hates for me to be concentrating on anything but him.

My cat Patrina used to lay on top of my monitor, and put hers tail and/or paws over it so I couldn't see. My cat Sadie will lay her self down right in front of whatever I am doing.

LOL, my cats do this all the time!!!! I loved it when our baby would try to eat through the paper too... I swear if they weren't so cute....

My cat does this to my 10 yr old ds when he tries to do his homework. Sometimes he has to throw her out and shut the door, because no matter how many times he throws her on the floor she jumps right back onto his paper and starts licking his face.

Yes my Kitty does this.

The most memorable time for me was my senior year in college, last semester, I was manually laying out a publication (I went to college just as they were switching over to desktop publishing so I had to learn BOTH ways). I had already received an extension because I had to deal with a family emergency in another state, so it was really crunch time. And all Kitty wanted to do was to lay on everything. He's lucky he's so darn cute.

Whether folding clothes, doing the bills, reading the paper, trying to be on the computer, heck even while taking a bath I have a cat sitting on the side of the tub playing in the water!

Spoiled rotten babies. I'm actually surprised one of them isn't up here right now.

Always, they are in the middle of everything. This may sound odd, but I read on my bed, lying on my side, with the book about two inches from my face. (Blind as a bat without my glasses.) The kitties shove themselves between my face and the book, just for a tummy rub. They can't stand it when we do anything that does involve them.

I was just commenting on this tonight. Minnie, our newest addition, is like a dog. She follows you all around the house. I had Friday off and she sat on the key board while I was trying to type. Sat in the bathrooms watching me while I cleaned them. She gives a little trill and then begins to purr.....she was a stray we got from the shelter and fits into our house just fine!
