If they don't like the food they got they go and sit and stare at the cabinet were it's stored?

No... but mine pretend to cover it up as if it were in the litter box! even though it is served in a bowl on a tile floor, I have one that will work for a few minutes thinking he is burying it!

No.. but we brought home a new bag today and she decided it was dinner time early. She chewed a hole in the corner and then would hit the corner with her paw to knock a few pieces out and eat them before repeating.

Crazy cat!

Oh mine does that too!

There is a cat that frequently visits here that I feed. If I don't give her EXACTLY the right food (Giant Eagle brand Chicken, Liver, Hearts...and don't even try the Fancy Feast of the same variety!), she gets mad and goes back outside to kill something better to eat.

I can sneak in a little dry food if it is the Orange Friskies. Other than that, she's not eating.

Ingrate.

Mine have been on the same food since they arrived at my house a year ago as 6 wk old kittens. I am not messing with a good thing! If I do forget to put more in their bowl, they will also chew a hole in the bag.. Now I have it stored in a plastic container because they like to play hockey on the kitchen floor with the extra pieces that fall out of the bag.. You just see fur flying across the floor and of course they only do this at midnight.

No, but probably only because my cats eat dry food only, and it never changes. Otherwise I'm sure they would. They have no shortage of attitude.

My cats would go through spells where they would get bored with their food and refuse to eat!! We would switch brands and then they were happy!! Guess they needed variety!!

No cat here, but my dog will sit on the floor staring me down until I put food in her bowl. She's got me trained pretty good, huh?

Crazy cat!

One of our cats does that! And for some reason both of them like eating out of the bag more than out of their bowl! I suppose they feel they've 'earned' their food that way or something! :lmao: Nothing like 'killing' that old cat food bag. ;)

Yep, mine is going through that right now. Drives me nuts! And if he hasn't noticed, canned food has gotten VERY expensive! So I put it down, he sniffs and walks away and it ends up going to waste because he won't eat it later, either. Last night in desperation (the cat is 12 yo and getting very thin), I put down a little of the dog's canned food. THAT he liked. I know they cannot live on dog food, but I can't get to the store until today.

We started giving my cat Temptation cat treats - she is now addicted! She will just sit by the closet waiting for some treats. If I can't find her in the house all I have to do is shake the bag and she comes running.

No, but she'll come and sit on my chest and stare me in the face until I do something about it.

The only time this cat will sit in your lap is if she's hungry. :lmao:

My cat gets fed twice a day- the morning DH feeds him and that's because Chase has him so trained. He walks around DH as he's getting ready for work (this is at 5am, mind you- as soon as he hears the tv go on he starts) meowing until DH feeds him. He won't stand at the closet where his food is because he can open the door himself- he just can't get into the food because it is in storage bins.

Does anyone else's cat punish them? When I go away- and this is just me, no one else in the family is as close to him as I am- he ignores me when I come home but greets everyone else. Then at 4am (I kid you not- it is like clock work that he does this) he runs to me on the bed, smacks me across the face and takes off. He's 6 1/2 and he's done this since he was allowed to roam the house. We recently got a new golden retriever puppy and I was sleeping on a air mattress in the kitchen until the puppy got used to her new home( Yes, I am that pathetic- Dh calls me mommy-sucker) After nearly a week of sleep this way (with the pup curled up next to me) my cat had enough and two nights in a row he snuck up to us in the airmattress and leaned over me to swipe at the puppy! My cat is so weird!:scared1:

If my cat is hungry, she opens the cabinet where the food is, climbs in and cuddles up next to the food bag. Once in a while she will bite at it, but most of the time she's ok just cuddling next to it. My other cat will just sit outside of the cabinet looking at her like she's crazy. One time he hopped up on the cabinet door and closed it. I saw it happen so I knew the other cat was in the cabinet but she didn't even try to come out. I checked a few minutes later and she was sound asleep.

At night she always sleeps with me. She pushes against me as hard as she can then lays down for the night. She treats me like the bag of food. I wonder what that means?

Mine leaves bits of food at the bottom of the bowl, refuses to eat it and then will follow me around the house complaining. Stares at the cabinet, stares at me and tells me off until I refill with fresh.

But what's wrong with the bits at the bottom of the bowl? Eat it!

Nope not happening lady, fill er up. :snooty:

If I giver her canned or pouched.. she licks it until it is dry.. and walks away. :headache:

No, my cat's favorite method of dealing with this situation is eating and then barfing, always on the carpet, God love him. Oh, except for last night--that was on my quilt. Lucky, lucky me.
