Does your 4yr old walk at the parks?

Another vote for take the stroller! We actually rented a double stroller last fall for our two boys ages 2 and 7. The year before that when we went and only had a single stroller for our younger son and it was pain in the butt. Our older son was hot and tired and didn't want to walk and was mad alot because his brother got to ride and he felt like that wasn't fair since he was tired and hot. We ended up missing most of the world showcase because it was very hot that day and dragging a hot and mad 6 year old around Epcot was not worth it. Last year with the double stroller, we were able to have both of them ride at the same time if they wanted and they both walked at times. In fact there were alot of times that they both walked, maybe 50% of the time one or both of them was walking.

While they walked alot and might have been ok if we told them to tough it out and walk the whole time, it is just so much more relaxing for us to have the stroller available when they doidget tired and want to ride. Plus when you stop for snacks or breaks it is easy for an adult to stand somewhere and eat a snack or take a break but it difficult for some kids to stand and have a snack and a drink. Having the stroller gives them a place to sit while they have a drink and a snack.

And when we go back in november... we will probably rent another double stroller - our boys will be 8 and almost 4!!! No it's not stroller abuse, I promise:rotfl2:. My 7 year old has been hovering at 44-45 pounds for the past three years, he just gets longer every year. This will probably be the last year for a stroller though, I can't see getting a stroller for a 9 year old and hopefully he will be over 50 by then...

We just got back a few weeks ago with our 6, 5 and 3 year old (she turned 3 in Oct). My dh and I debated back and forth whether or not to take the stroller...I wanted to but he didn't. Well, we ended up NOT bringing the stroller and we had the most wonderful trip! The only time the kids wanted a stroller was when our friends joined us with their 4 and 2 year old and their stroller...as soon as my kids saw it, they were tired! LOL! It was so nice to just have a backpack with us with just a few necessities (change of clothes for the littlest, sunscreen, etc.) and so nice to just go from attraction to attraction without having to hunt down the stroller!

I agree it is so nice...Walking came in the most handy at the stampede for Pixie Hollow in the morning. While everyone else had to go back and park the stroller ( they weren't allowing anyone to enter the line that day without their WHOLE party )we just walked right to the front..

My ds was nearly 5 when we went the last time & he whined if he couldn't sit in the stroller & he is one of those kids who likes to run around for hours on end.
