Does XMas ever get discounted with a code rate?

Does anybody know if there are ever code rates or FL resident discounts available for XMas Eve/XMas? My DH and I are thinking of booking for next year, and we're wondering if it's always rack-rate availability at that time of year at WDW resorts. Thanks!

For the past two years the Swan/Dolphin has had a great discount of something like $129/night. I can't remember if it started or ended on Christmas day. Since there are no conventions during Christmas, I guess they have rooms they need to book. I thought about going, but the airfare was too high.

There are no discounts from Dec 19 to Jan 2.

It all depends when you check in. Typically the codes expire at the end of value season, but if you're lucky enough to check in the last day, then the rate is valid for your stay even if you're there through the holidays. We did this in 2002 and stayed at AKL. It was fabulous!

Actually this year Disney did release discounts for Christmas stays (which included Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.) If you check in on or before 12/25 there are still discounted rates available for AP and FL residents.

I was quite surprised to see the discounts include Christmas this year. Generally speaking in the past the discounts have ended at the end of value season (mid-December) but they extended the public/AP/FL res rates this year until Christmas. So if you timed your vacation right you could actually be on a discounted offer all through New Year's (10 day maximum)

Cool! We'll most likely be FL residents by XMas of next year, so this would probably work for us. What were the discounts like for FL residents for XMas Eve/XMas day? I'm not super-picky about resorts. We like Coronado Springs just as well as we like the deluxes.

I got the Boardwalk for $209 a night checking in on Dec. 25, 2004. Fabulous, since the peak rate is $459 if I checked in on Dec 26th.

As long as you check in by Dec 25th, discount codes are available. We are paying $85 a night at POR between xmas and new years.
