...Also staff can not check their friends list to see if they are in that room. If what everyone is saying they have no friends list with CL or other players right now.

So it has to be random...
Just because you're not on a Staff's friend list, doesn't mean they can't find you. I'm certain they have ways to look up individual players without using in-game mechanics. They probably have some sort of "game editor" that lets them find users/rooms, lock other peoples rooms, add/remove items from peopls inventories, etc.

Am I the only one that thinks VMK plays favorites on events like this? Share your opinions here and correct me if I'm wrong or whatever..

I just think that Hosts choose either the players that have been there since day 1, have followed the rules at all times, or are brand new players that just got their feet wet.

:sad2: :headache: :sad1:

Nope. I personally think they just do their job. Yeah they might end up giving dream stuff to their friends and maybe things to the same people. But that probably just happens.

Well you could say Disney isn't fair by only giving some people dreams prizes.

::yes:: Yep.

Quoting straight from the newsletter:

So, they can easily find their friends rooms to see if they match the criteria. Or the most well known players, anyways. (Not necessarily saying this happens).

I've seen almost no "Joe Schmoe's" with dreams prizes. Not to say they aren't out there.

I'm a Joe Schmoe. I joined late June. And I got ears two days ago. I've been lucky. I've never seen hosts before nor have I seen staff before. I was one of the lucky ones to win.

I voted no.

I vote yes because I believe staff shows favoritism, and not necessarily just in this dreams promotion. It also is not just CL's that are staff favorites here. It is certain well known people we may or may not see here that keep getting dreams.. over and over and over again.. It's too much of a coincidence for me to believe it's fair.

Uh, I've won 7 times and i don't really know the staff.

A lot of people are talking about the dream stuff and staff showing preferential treatment. Ask yourselves this: Do i sit in one room all night and wait for a staff or go room to room.

I go room to room, not like i have anything better to do, but in so doing i have come across them the seven times.

So all in all, i don't think they show favoriitism ,since i don't really know staff. Whenever there was a host quest room or such before, i'd just go in, say hi, and do the quest, not even waiting for a response so i could move the room along. I've played for a year.

Want to win more dream stuff? Follow the hosts rules and not camp in a room all night.

Also, could it be possible that the people who some think are being shown favoritism just happened to be in the right place at the right time?

WELL.. I glove (hehe) this thread...b/c let me tell you, i SAW firsthand the other night favoritism being played out to a certain VMK member
Have a magical night everyone! :cool2:

I voted no!

I've been lucky in the Dreams promotion because I believe I happened to be in the right place at the right time. I don't play VMK a lot anymore due to other obligations and the mere fact that I've been disillusioned not by VMK Staff but by certain DIS posters who have done everything in their power to discredit my name because they couldn't deal with the fact we don't allow their 'bull' here in the DIS.

I don't advertise on the DIS who I am in VMK, I don't walk around VMK telling anyone who I am BUT I have been playing the game this month and truly believe it depends on how long you spend in the game, where you are and pure luck.

I don't believe there is the grand conspiracy and I do believe the VMK Hosts are trying to reach everyone as quickly as possible.

I think by reading a lot of the posts on the DIS they are doing an awesome job of this! The month is only half over! :)

Just because you're not on a Staff's friend list, doesn't mean they can't find you. I'm certain they have ways to look up individual players without using in-game mechanics. Hehehe. I saw good use of Staff "GPS" at work. I was hanging in the Castle
Forecourt yesterday afternoon, when suddenly VMK Bubbles appeared. She
was trying to tell a girl to stop and change her signature, but the girl was
acting like Richard Kimble in "The Fugitive" - walked right into Central Plaza
trying to "escape" Bubbles. I had to giggle at that, because this girl
obviously has no clue that VMK can and will find her.

I did vote yes in the poll. But as the month comes goes on I do see evidence that the hosts are trying to reach everyone to at least give them ears.

That is not to say that those "favorites" don't already have everything and can enjoy the month without having to spend hours in a room in hopes to find a host.

LOL the VMK Fugitive! :lmao:

Heh, I heart that movie... Tommy Lee Jones was great in it.

I guess that makes VMK_Bubbles the VMK Marshal! :rotfl2:

All I know is, I was talking with happy_guest, and she and I had to do a
"What just happened?" double take. It didn't take more than a moment to
realize that Bubbles was chasing after this kid.
