No, not admiring, he saw a blue lanyard from afar, and ran directly in front of me and stopped.. if it were a one on one situation and about 4 more feet in height, he would of went over the bridge!
Then, by your own description you were a bit harsh in your response to this child who was visiting a family-oriented theme park by saying,

Though I like it when it happens, I make it clear to people that I'm not staff.. and if you're going to rudely stop me by standing in my path (all the while paying me no attention, just what I have on) then your dang right! Except you can take "a bit" out of there!
CMs get paid to deal with these type of kids, I pay to tell them to get away.

May I suggest that perhaps THAT is why kids such as the above approach you and want to trade with you? You just said yourself that you look like a cast member. Why would a young child view you as anything but if self-admittedly, you look like one. Maybe, just maybe, if you are going to look like a cast member in a family-oriented park wearing pins for all to see, you should have a little more patience with little kids who wish to trade with you.
Yesterday when I went to the parks, I offered to an oriental family to take their pics for them.. after one of the most perfect shots I'd ever taken, their little boy started jumping around like a ninja turtle power ranger and was like, "Pins! Ayyyeeee!" No joke.
He didn't demand anything, he didn't go grabbing my lanyard, he didn't pull out pins expecting a trade, but he certainly asked.. well.. his parents did to where I traded an Epcot pin for a Goofy in a dump truck!

Untill the day we can have magnets installed inside of us to repel people who are completely bonkers, we'll have to just play VMK and do it the easy way.
