Does Universal have water rides?

You will get more answers on the Universal Board but I'll start you off with a heart YES! Think more Kali River looking like a drowned rat than Splash's light sprinkling. You look like you stood under a full on shower for 5 minutes at least drenched to the skin soaked kinda wet.

Alli is correct in that for Universal you should go to their boards, however as was said, yes, Islands of Adventure has 3 water rides and you will get wet! Universal Studios not so much.

YES. And they are better than the ones at WDW(I'm talking to you Kali). Bring clothes/shoe that can get wet and have fun.

In my opinion, Universal has more ways to soak you or at least get you wet than any other park. I really felt last trip after I was squirted in the face for the 100th time that when Universal wasn't sure what to do, they thought hey let's just add water to the attraction - that makes everything better! Not sure what do = squirt them in the face.

But seriously, they have a number of water rides that completely soak you. I mean wearing extra long ponchos we still got soaked, and a number of attractions that spray you with water to varying degrees. However, there isn't a water park.

At USF:

There's a raft slide in Fievel's Playground. If you don't have kids, skip it. I've seen 2 adults get stuck and water just poured into their raft.

There's a water play area in Curious George. Again, if you don't have kids, skip it. Unless you are really really hot and just want a quick dousing to cool off.

At IoA there are more:

One Fish Two Fish. If you don't pay attention, you're gonna get wet. Even when you do pay attention, you sometimes get wet. Think a few squirts with a Super Soaker. Not a really big deal, and shoes would be fine.

River Adventure. Kinda like Splash Mountain type wet, depending on where you sit and the makeup of your boat. I've been bone dry and I've been pretty good and wet. Feet usually stay pretty dry though, because you have them under the seat in front of you.

Ripsaw Falls. Log flume ride. Again, it's hit or miss how wet you get, but I've never been completely soaked on it. On the other hand .....

Bluto's. Guaranteed soaker. If the rapids and kids with water cannons don't get you, the boat wash *WILL*. Especially if the tower controller is bored and decides your boat needs more splashing and fires off a few well-timed cannon shots of their own. Not that I would ever have done such a thing ... :rolleyes1 There is a small area in the boat where you can put stuff and it *should* stay dry, but those things tend to have leaks and tears in them, so I wouldn't count on it. Definitely bring flip-flops/water shoes for this, because they will not let you board without wearing some sort of shoes. This is the type of ride where people get off and literally wring out their clothes.

Oh, and Poseidon's Fury ... you might get a little splashed if you're in the front during the final battle. And the water vortex has been known to shut down occasionally. From time to time. And yes, that means all that water spinning around so hypnotically falls on whatever poor unfortunate souls happen to be walking through it. But that rarely happens. And by rarely, I mean I've only heard of it happening twice.

And watch out for the Mystic Fountain or whatever they're calling it now. It's occasionally inhabited by a very evil or playful spirit, and you can get wet there.

As stated, the water rides at IOA are brutal, especially the rapids ride! But in general, you'd be surprised at just how many rides incorporate at least some degree of water between the two parks. Not necessarily to soak you, but the use of water in attractions is EVERYWHERE. My only visit to the parks was when I had an arm cast that could not get wet; we ended up having to pull out the waterproof baggie much more often than we were expecting.

Ripsaw Falls is good except for the loading/unloading experience. I hate, and don't get, the "stiffen up your body and slide in because the restraints don't move"-thing.

It's just so awkward to get in/out of it and I avoid it. The ride, itself, is pretty good.

Bluto's - this is the best raft ride I've ever been on. It's like the ride is saying, "What? Still not wet enough? Let me pour some water on ya to fix that." It's long, too. About 1/2 way through I expected it to be over and then we started climbing a hill while water was sprayed on us. It's awesome!

At Islands of Adventure, we were counting the number of attractions that didn't get us wet. :rotfl2: Everything listed by other posters can get you pretty wet (Bluto's Barges = total soaking) plus the stunt show has splash zones that leave you soaked. We were there on a hot day and totally embraced the constant drenching, even on rides like One Fish Two Fish. They have $5 human dryers, which families were lining up for, but we just wore quick dry clothes and let the sun do its work. I recommend fast-drying athletic wear rather than a poncho on a warm day. I wore regular shoes because my water shoes had already given me blisters earlier in the trip. I don't remember if my feet escaped most of the water, or if I was having too much fun to notice wet shoes.

Especially if it's a quiet day and you go round 6 times without getting off. I had a couple of dry patches after round 2, mainly under my arms. round 3 sorted that out, and then when you're that wet, you can't get wetter.

Dried off in about 15 minutes...

Won't even bother with Kali rapids now, not in the same league (it's the only place Uni wins over WDW in my book)

Lots of water elements to be sure. US/IOA does own Wet-N-Wild Water park with complimentary transportation. If you purchase the Orlando Flex Pass, admission is included. There are other combo type tickets as well.

We are heading over on Saturday with the only purpose of getting the kids soaked on all those rides they always wanted to do... but I never let them because... well we would be soaked!

So ~ IOA first for the Ripsaw falls and Bluto and then on to Curious George to just play for a little while.

I definitely recommend a change of clothes and shoes if you plan to ride those two.

LOVE Blutos! Unlike Kali - very good ride in addition to getting you wet. We go at low season and have literally ridden 7-8 times in a row (we usually try to get into rafts with people who don't look like they're expecting it). Our standard procedure is change into bathing suits and flip flops before water rides, store everything in locker, do Dudley, Jurassic and Bluto, and then change into dry clothes since you look like you jumped into a pool after Bluto often!

These are awesome for quick dry pants/shorts. Bimini Bay Pants/Shorts. I have the ones at the bottom, the zip-off pants. I took a waterfall to the face on Splash Mountain, and was dry before we'd walked over to Haunted Mansion. Walmart has them, $25

Not adding much here that hasn't already been said, but if water rides are your thing, IoA will not disappoint. We went a few months ago and let them kids talk us into doing the water rides (it was around Thanksgiving, so not exactly 85 and sunny), but we waited to do them right before it was time for us to leave. As such, we did the three main water rides one right after the other (and one of them twice since there was no line). Even with raincoats and ponchos, we were drenched. And yes, even One Fish Two Fish (their Dumbo) will get you wet.

We love Splash Mtn as much for the theming as for the water aspect, but Kali is at the absolute bottom of my ride list, water or not....way too short for the wait, and there are other things I'd much rather use a FP on, especially with the "new" FP+ system.

I'll only add that Bluto's and Ripsaw Falls have water cannons here and there where you can pay to squirt a slow moving boat as it goes by. It's great fun!

You don't have to pay. There are a couple different places for the pay water cannons and a couple places where there are free water cannons. I can't remember all the free locations, but one of them is located on the back side second deck of Me-Ship the Olive. We spent a good bit of time shooting people here last trip.

Don't tell anyone, but I did, too, when I worked that attraction. If nobody was up there, I couldn't stand to see boats go by with dry people, so I'd help them out. I mean, they got on a water ride to get wet, right? Can't have guests not getting what they want. ::yes::
