this will not be for this year but for 2018. Our 11 year old son would be too scared for the horror nights and he is more into Harry Potter. Do they have a halloween for kids at the WIzarding World section for the younger ones?

Nope. Halloween, or the Halloween party nights, for kids who aren't ready for HHN involve staying on the IOA side (it's only Studios that has the parties) or going back to the resort for the pool, or Citywalk minigolf, etc etc.

I remember some years ago there was a rumor Universal was developing a kid friendly Halloween event for HP but nothing ever came of it. I think it would be a great idea for the kiddies to have something to do other than MNSSHP.

And not just kiddies. There are lots of adults who don't enjoy HHN but would enjoy some sort of Halloween event while their friends/partners attend HHN.

and beware of the decorations are awful for some kids, while there are no "horror" activities during regular park hours, the creepy decor is up and we did have a very scared 7year old boy who hate it, and closed his eyes while walking by them.

I am one of those Adults. I am probably going to attend HHN one night so I can hang with Schumi, but I HATE being scared.

Chuckers.......This is just a couple of images of props that are left out during the day and not covered. Some props are covered, like fake bodies covered on blood and things like that.........nothing that will scare or offend you.

We didn't find the decorations during the day to be an issue. I have an extremely timid 8 year old who is scared of just about everything and did fine during the day when we were there this past October. (He thinks Men In Black is too scary for reference).

I'm with Chuckers on this one. Maybe I should come that night too and we can use Schumi as a shield! A neighbor mentioned alcohol helps so I might try that route.

During the day, I'm fine, it's the darkness that gets me.. and the things that move in the dark...

Then you're fine during the day. You won't see anything worse than above pics.

Nothing to see during the day. My kids have never had issue with the larger props visible during the day and actually ask me a lot of questions about them. One of my favorite things US does is changing the name of Mel's during HHN. Anyone have a pic? Mine are lost...:(

That is so cool. I did not notice Mel's sign last year at HHN.
