Does Universal actually check ID?

I bought a single day ticket and I see they say to present your ID when you give them your ticket.

Do they actually ID people? Seems like, unless trying to catch someone using someone else's annual pass, a big waste of time.

I pack very, very light when I go to theme parks (usually just my phone and small cash) tbh because I just have a fear of losing things like my ID, wallet, etc. I mean it's no big deal, I'll bring my ID if they require it but I'm wondering does Universal actually make people present it when they are entering the park?

You should always carry an ID with you...just in case something happens and you need to prove who you are. Universal will sometimes ID if they think the ticket is a fake or something. But again...going anywhere w/o an ID is not wise so carrying your ID will take care of any potential problems.

Agree with pp. Always travel with ID. There are enough "what ifs" to make it necessary to have. Buy some bottoms with zippers pockets. :)

If you use your ticket and try to get re-entry and your finger scan does not work, they want to see ID to make sure your ticket does not belong to someone else.

Get a lanyard and a nice lanyard pouch (I prefer the witz brand hard plastic waterproof ones), put cards and cash in there. I don't travel without my ID.

And insurance card, cc, hotel keycard, express pass card (er stay onsite there), etc. all handily there in my witz holder on my ravenclaw lanyard.

Depending on how you are picking up your ticket, you may need ID to get the ticket. As for having ID with you in the parks, I have not had it before and they asked for it. In my case, it's because my fingerprint didn't work. What they did when I didn't have ID was to ask me what time I entered into the park and a couple other questions. That being said, it's still a good idea to have it. I just didn't remember that day.

I wish I could find some good shorts with pockets. It's so much harder to find good pockets in women's shorts than men's. It's hard to find shorts that fit me right without worrying about pockets.

Yeah I guess I should stop being so overwrought. I'll just carry my ID. It really is no biggie. Thanks everyone!
