I am wanting to try Wine Country Trattoria on our next trip and sit out on the patio. One of my friends said she saw some kind of counter service windows right there on the patio. She thought if that was the case then we wounldn't have to make priority seating arrangements. Does anyone know about this?

I know there is the regular restaurant but is there also a counter service option on the patio?

Thanks!
Kelly

P.S. Is there a split plate charge at the regular restaurant?

I could be totally wrong, but from my brief observation, the counter area to the right of the Trattoria seemed to be a wine bar.

In late January this year, I was able to just walk up without a PS. I was told it would be 20 minutes, but it was only *maybe* 10 minutes before I was seated. And I was seated at a table for 4 (it was just me) so I imagine a group of 4 could have been seated in that same amount of time...

If it had been light enough for outside seating, I'm sure I could have gotten a seat outside (but it was dark and cold and a bit rainy). :)

Yes, Bumbershoot is right what your friend saw was the Wine Tasting bar. The only food they have is cheese and fruit plates. But great wine tasting

I will be honest all of the times I have been I have always gotten a seat. For the most part the WCT does not get to booked as to need a PS. If you come up the desk and they say its too busy or is only taking PS at the time, go over to the Wine Bar and use the phone there you can call Disney Dining Free and see what PS's they can get you. We have done this many times for BB and Napa, but have never had to do it for WCT.

On the split plate fee I don't know, but honestly I find the prices so good I wouldn't bother. The servings sizes aren't terribly huge. I always get the Caprese Sandwich and a salad and find that if I eat the salad, I end up taking the sandwich with me in a togo box and end up eating it for dinner later ;) Without the salad I think I would actually eat most of it at the restaurant.

I did the same thing when I had that same combo. But then my sandwich got gross looking by the next day around noon, and I was feeling really sick (horrid headache) and I couldn't handle the thought of that mushy cheese (I always have issues with mozzarella and it went beyond what I could mentally deal with), and alas poor caprese, it got dumped in the trash near Grizzly. :sad1:
