I have a number of body piercings and wondered if they will set off the detectors?

Anyone had the same issue?

Thanks.

Not had the same issue as i am piercing free :)

However, based on some knowledge of how the metal detectors work - it will all depend on how high their sensitivity is set, how many piercings you have and the size of the titanium things (not sure what to call them?) that you have.

If you are worried about setting of the alarms and having to be screened and the attention it might bring it's probably best to leave them out for the day :sunny:

I have a titanium rod in my arm from a bad break and I have never set the detectors off (it goes from my shoulder to my elbow)

Thanks. I'm not bothered about the attention, I just want to pass through as quickly as possible.

I have too many to take out!!

You will pass through no probelm ~ My mum has a titanium rod in her hip. We have just returned home from Paris and there was no problem. Never had any problem with her going through to the US either. I have a titanium bar in my belly button and I had no bother either.

Call me paranoid, but doesn't that represent a major security flaw - titanium passing undetected......?

No problems RE piercings, rods etc, just thinking out loud about the recent security "awareness" things...

DH has a a couple of titanium plates in his skull and they don't set off the detectors :goodvibes
