Does time of day check-in time influence AKL upgrade?

Was upgraded at POFQ a few years ago. We checked in at rhe resort and were upgraded much to my surprise! Didn't ask why and didn't really care. It was a garden view and was nice, but would never pay extra for it

I guess we will wait and see. With the room only discounts on at the time we check in, I don't anticipate anything but if it does happen, we won't say no.

Of the 4 trips I have booked, I have received upgrades 3 times. Didn't ask for it and didn't ask why, just enjoyed. We are heading back to the Lodge on the 16th. Booked a woodview and will be happy with an upgrade and happy with the woodview room because I will be there with my grandkids.
