I didn't want to go on the parks board and be depressed (I cry at WDW commercials for pete's sake) so I thought I'd ask here.
DH has said before that I need to go on vacation for my sanity (he must think I'm some kind of a psycho, LOL) and we'll make it happen somehow. However, that was before he was in the hospital. Today he stood up for 5 minutes in physical therapy so he seems to be on the upswing, but I don't think he will be able to go right back to work when he gets out.
Right now I'm paying all the bills again and we are definately paycheck to paycheck. There isn't any savings to speak of. I don't see how we could save thousands of dollars by summer, even if we went in August. (I teach so it has to be summertime, or Christmas!) We don't use credit cards anymore.
After the sucky year we've had there is nothing I would like better than a Disney vacation. However, I don't want the stress of saving for it to make things even more stressful!
I'm thinking if the 50th anniversary celebration goes through 2006, we can make it a real whopper of a vacation NEXT summer and that would also be our 20th anniversary. If things do get better this year we could do a smaller trip somewhere else; maybe see his sister in NC and go to the outer banks for a day or two. Or if things get REALLY better we could go over the holidays.
