Does this surprise anyone else?!?!?

We have had plans to go to WDW July 18 - 25th for months. Last week, we decided to see if we could bump it up a couple of weeks for July 5 - 11th....thinking it was an exercise in futility.... I called and there was absolutely no problem with availability!! I was shocked!! In fact, I also changed all of our dining reservations and we got almost the exact same times that we booked over a month ago! I know that the week of July 4th is super-crowded, so I really thought it wouldn't work out! Does this surprise anyone else???

I don't think the summer is as busy after July 4th, probably because of the heat and the hurricane season. The deluxe resorts go to value season rates starting July 8th.

I agree that the week after July 4 isn't all that much more busy than any other summer week. It is the 4th of July itself that is so packed.

Since 4th of July is on a Wednesday this year, my guess is that will cut down considerably on those booking a long weekend. That probably helped too.
