Trying to figure out the cheapest way to book.

If I rented 178 points (according to www.wdwinfo.com points calc) for BW on 12/10/06-12/16/06 at lets say $10 a point that would be $1780. For 7 day w/hopper and water parks $1676 (according to www.aaa.com) that's for 4 adults 2 children 6 and 4) and the dining plan thru aaa.com $159.89 the total trip would be (not including air or taxes) $3615.89 compared to booking on Disney's website $6431.32? TIA.

You wouldn't buy the dining plan through AAA. It would be an add-on through DVC (I understand those renting are eligible), but it would be much more than only $159. You pay per person, per night, for the number of nights you're staying. For 2 adults and 2 children for 6 nights it would be in the neighborhood of $1,000 for the dining plan.

You are also using the point values for Standard view. The standard views at BWV are less than 10% of the Villas and go in the first couple of weeks of reservation availability (which was in January). You won't be able to get standard at this point. You really need to move pretty quick to get anything at DVC for early December. It is one of the most popular times for DVC members.

If I'm looking at your dates right, you need 211 points.
