Does this sound right re: Deposit on Cypress Point Grande Villas II?

I am booking directly through them. They only require 1 night's deposit to hold the rooms. BUT, they won't charge the one night deposit until November...we are going in December. We pay the balance in December.

This sounds too good to be true. Everyone else is charging the deposit at the time of booking.

I know hotelkingdom.com is now requiring the full amount up front. So what do you think?

call them back and make sure you don't have to sit through one of their sales pitches for their price.

if they no - then go ahead and book with them.

if they yes - I would go with hotelkingdom.

I've booked many places that didn't charge the deposit until I arrived or just before, I find it kind of weird that hotelkingdom.com demands the full amount up front, which is one of the reasons I never booked with them.

I'd doublecheck the accuracy with reservations, then keep a sharp eye on my credit card receipts to make sure. Otherwise, I think that's the right way to go since vacations are cancelled all of the time due to all kinds of things.

We stayed there Oct 2005 (going back June 2006).
We had originally had plans for Sept. but hurricane Jeanne changed them for us.
We had been booked with HotelKingdom. Since rebooking was short notice, HotelKingdom did not have any availability. We did get a refund and then called Cypress Pointe direct. They had a room for us for about $3 a day more. Not a problem really. They only charged one night deposit.
They were incredibly accomodating.
I would not worry. As long as you get a written confirmation from them you should be all set.
