Does this sound like too much downtime?

Osborne lights is what tipped me off too! lol

Just a suggestion, in case you ever do something like wdw-seaworld-wdw again...they Hyatt at MCO is wonderful and very reasonably priced. The pool there is nice and you can watch the planes take off as you swim and relax. If we find we have to arrive late or take a super early flight home we usually add a room at the Hyatt, cant beat being right there and relaxing. Lots of places to explore in the airport too.
We did this two years ago and absolutely loved it. It didn't pack our swim suits since we landed at 8pm but liked watching the planes and the room was awesome

It took you that long? I was tipped off by this huge red flag:

Current weather....

Lol good catch

Ugh. Can't we punish people who start up old threads like this? Like force them to eat at San Angels or rope drop the Circle of Life trash movie at Epcot? So annoying
What's the big deal though? It can help someone else. I don't get it except for the fact that the Osborne lights aren't there, everything can apply to someone else who might have similar questions. I enjoyed looking back to see what I worried about and what I should've changed or glad I didn't. Helps me for next time!

I agree. I'd rather see someone bump up an old thread instead of having to rummage through 20 threads with the same questions week after week.

Anyway, I'm happy it worked out for you and when I was reading your itinerary I actually felt relaxed!

It was such a nice schedule except I would've hit rope drop, took long afternoon breaks and went back out to the parks for a fireworks show or a few rides. But overall it seemed relaxing. :thumbsup2

That is exactly what we are going to try this time around. But we will be staying at AKL so the breaks might be longer due to transportation but will need it with our 13 month old.

Does your child actually sleep in? Our grandkids who are 4 and 5 wake up at. 6:00 pretty much wherever they are so your plan would be way too much down time for us. We are RD people. Also a lot of your down time is being spent moving hotels which also would not work for our vacation style. But you know your family best.

It all depends on what kind of vacation you want to have!? if you've been to WDW before and plan to go back and if you want to just relax and wander around.... sounds good!
And honestly.... for a typical 4 1/2 year old.... she will be bored!! Honestly.... I'd be totally bored!!
It's alot of down time..... Re-think what you want out of the trip, then you can answer your own question whether its too much down-time! :)

:P hahaha.... just now realized the original post was from 2012!!! haha!!!:D:D

We go to WDW often...just were there with 14 family members 6 adult gr kids...I planned most things..they told me if they wanted something else with the fps...or dinner...we..were there a week.....have taken the grand kids since they were babies....
Any way....my only suggestion is avoid Disney Springs on a wk end.....it is usually wall to wall people in and out of the stores... Enjoy your time...

Thanks for the update :)

He told me it would be too much downtime and he and everyone else was right. But we did take a little since our dd needed it.

Glad you were able to be flexible and adjust the plans. I actually agree with veering on the side of planning for more downtime. It's easy to add extra park time if you are bored - but harder to trim off stuff you overplanned. I've definitely been guilty of "just one more ride" and then pushing us over into exhaustion. On the other hand, my DH loves "sleep in mornings". We typically still end up in a park by 9:15am or so but soo nice not to rush out the door in the morning.

I agree - I'm not one who minds zombie posts - I still learn stuff or am entertained :) That said, it may be helpful if you go and edit your original post adding a note that it is very old and include your update there so people don't read through 5 pages of posts to find your update.

Yes, My daughter used to sleep in a lot (didn't know her thyroid wasn't working at the time) so she definitely didn't get bored and needed the downtime. Now that her thyroid is regulated she can handle getting up at 6am so I'm super excited this time around to try rope drop!

Edited. Thank you. Looks like you added to the first post while I was writing my reply about letting readers know this is an old thread that might help with planning, but that you no longer needed advice or recommendations for the trip. :)
