Hi,

I have been miserable for about 4 days with pain on one side of my face only.

Kinda wierd, I thought it was related to a bad tooth that I need to have out, but now I don't know.

I have pinpricking type pain in my chin, ear, upper and lower teeth, and sometimes in my eye. My sinuses are slighly swollen.

As I said, only on one side of my face, tho.

Any ideas? I am going to try to get in to a dr tomorrow, but I may not be able to get in till Thursday.

I have only had one sinus infection in my life, and that was a long time ago.

Herc..

It could be a sinus problem or it could actually be a TOOTH abcess.

Definitely see a doc soon, sounds like you need antibiotics.

Good luck!

I didn't realize you could get a sinus infection on only one side.....until last January!!! I had the pain on one side too, but not all the way down to my chin. The pain was mostly around my eyes and forhead. hmmmmm......

Maybe it is the tooth infected.....

***I'm not a doctor but I play one on dis****

Take care of yourself!!

Have you tried any pain relievers?

Hi, yes I am livin on Advil these days, ;)

This is really strange, I am also just totally dragging...no energy at all.

Herc.

:( maybe it's both :(

Either way Michelle is right, antibiotics are needed!!!

It sounds like it definitely could be a sinus infection. You can try lightly thumping your sinuses to see if they're tender.

A lot of studies show that most sinus infections will clear themselves without antibiotics, but since you'll have been in pain for 5 days tomorrow, I'd make that appointment as soon as possible. There's no reason to keep on suffering.

Sounds like 1 of three things. A bad tooth, sinuses or an ear infection. I agree with everyone else, go get some antibiotics.

If it's an upper tooth, and it hurts when you walk, it's sinus. And yes, the come on only one side. I've never had one on my good side.

Get thee to the Dr. Last winter my dad procrastinated so long with his sinus infection, they ended up prescribing Cipro (Anthrax antibiotics) because nothing else would work.

Hope you are feeling better soon

As an old pro in the sinus infection department, I can tell you that it can happen.

As a matter of fact, I'm headed for the ENT about my headaches tomorrow morning. I've had this pain in my head for months now.

More specifically than just a sinus infection, which you may feel in your lower sinus cavities, you may have an infection in your upper sinuses, which are sortof behind and above your eyes. Oxygen can't get to these areas, so this type of infection can't be treated with a regular antibiotic. You'll probably need an anaerobic antibiotic, like flagil (sp?!), augmentin, or cipro.

Good luck at the doc. And don't let him just look at you. Make him x-ray it, culture it, or ct scan it....
