Does this site "really" exist??

I have watched on different vacation planning videos over the years the same scene from FW. It shows an RV and it is literally parked next to one of the canals (the canal is beg enough that there is a canoe paddling by ). It appears to be a campsite. Does anyone know if this site actually is a campsite?? There doesn't seem to be any concrete pad or hook ups of any kind. We had a site next to a canal in 2002, but it was at a very narrow park and looked nothing like this. It would be nice to be that close to a wide portion of the canal so that DH and DS could fish (hopefully the water won't be stagnent this time around!!)

I can think of a couple of sites on 1800, 1600, and 300 that are at the side of the canal and you could just walk back and fish. The water there looks pretty good, too. I was walking the camping corgi (aka Gunnar) along the dog walk off of 1800 and saw a family in a canoe heading back down the canal. That's the first canoe I'd seen in the canal there--maybe they took a wrong turn somewhere?

No, That site does not exist. The same way the campfire sing a long in a grass field with a roaring ground fire and 30 people sitting around the fire on logs does not exist. Or the dirt road that they show an RV driving down (well the road does exist but they better never catch you driving your RV down it). I also have no idea where the pool is that has rounded steps leading into it they show on the latest dvd is either. That DVD really is misleading and it does not have to be. FW is a very nice campground. I don't see why they just don't show it as it is.

Not sure which site you are mentioning, but we stayed on loop 300 in March and had a beautiful site. There was a canal behind us (very wide) with a wooded area on the other side. It was probably the best site we've had in the 14 years of camping there. It was really quiet and peaceful. You could see the bike path from the back of our site. Hope this info helps you.
