Does this seem right?

So, I was debating between a 2 bedroom or 2 studios recently, when I read a thread about putting dining plan on one studio and not the other. That got me thinking.

If there are 5 of us in 1 studio and 4 in the other, what if we do DxDDP for the 5? For 8 nights we would have:
120 meal entitlements (plus apps for TS)
and 80 snack credits.

For DDP for 8 nights for 8 people (one of the above is under 3) we would have
124 meal entitlements (QS & TS)
128 snacks.

Is sharing the meal plan frowned upon? Will I have any issues, or does Disney not question it because they are my credits to spend how I choose?

You should not have issues. Our trip this year isn't until May, but we did this for two trips in 2016 (May & Oct). I always asked the waiter/waitress before we ordered and they all said something to the effect of "Yes, you have the deluxe plan so you can order whatever you'd like". At Yachtsman's we even needed an extra dessert and tried to order it OOP, but the waitress said the plan would cover it.

You should have no problem "sharing"
credits.

However 120 credits across 8 days is only 15 meals a day. With 9 people eating that is less then 2 full meals.

Yes, but one of the 9 is under 3 and my sister and frequently shared QS meals last time.

I will say if you are using any DxDP credits for quick service then it isn't a deal at all. You will end up over paying even by splitting meals because the DxDP is only cost effective at table service.

I don't know. We came out ahead on DDP last time, paying for all 8. If we pay for 5, have just 4 less meal credits, but still have meals for all 8, and pay over $600 less overall, I think we will come out ahead. But we will see. I think I'm going to try it.

Bring cash for tips. That will be easiest. Or have each couple cover the tip for one meal.

Also, do remember that someone from that room will have to be at every meal.
