We are staying at Port Orleans and wonder if it would be feasible to spend our first night at the Boardwalk, but to eat in Epcot? There are 3 or 4 restaurants that we'd love to try in Epcot but will only be in that park 2 days (we don't have hoppers). Also, there are no restaurants that interest us in Boardwalk, DTD or our resort. We thought Chefs de France would be a good choice since it's right by the entrance (we think). We wanted to "save" showing the kids the park for the days we'll be touring them - we don't want them to lose the WOW factor just to go for dinner. What do you guys think?? :cool1:

not sure I understand the question...are you asking if you can go in the International Gateway & eat in France without "seeing" much of the park...yes, you're correct about that. France is just to the right of where you come in to Epcot from Boardwalk/Beach Club Resort area.

However, you DO have to use a park ticket for that day...you must have park ticket admission to get into Epcot even if you just want to eat. Seems kind of expensive use of a park ticket to just go in to eat and not use the admission to see anything else.:confused3

catne.....I guess it does seem like a "waste" of a ticket, but we only intend to go to the parks for 6 days and we have a 7 day pass. We can "downgrade" to a 6 day pass, but it only saves $20 for all 4 of us, so we figured we'd keep it just in case. Do you have a dining suggestion for Downtown Disney or Boardwalk? We don't like ESPN, T-Rex, Kouzzina or Big River Grill. Thanks & enjoy your November visit!!

Portobello has great food in DTD they are expensive for dinner but very reasonable for lunch....
House of blues in DTD is good and you can get a 25.00 coupon or what they call a gift certificate for 2.00 on restaurant.com watch the sales for 80% off

you can also check out the menues for YC and BC they accept the DP..
you have many options in the BW DTD area depending on if you are on the DP and or what you want to spend..
If you are staying at PO I would take the boat to DTD why waste all that time to go to the BW? It is nice to visit but it is only a 20 minute stay if you are not eating there.

There are four other resorts that are a short walking distance from the Boardwalk. It seems a lot easier to me to find something in one of them than to trek into EPCOT just for dinner, epseically if you're not planning on spending any time in there.

Between the Yacht Club, Beach Club, Swan and Dolphin, I'd think that there would have to be something in there that you would all like.

Here's a link to everything in the immediate area, including the Boardwalk:

Epcot Resort Area Restuarants

And as others have mentioned, there are discounts available to you in some restaurants in this area if you're paying out of pocket. If you go to Restaurants.com and search for Disney World, you'll find a handful of places in the Swan and Dolphin Hotels eligible for their gift certificates.

Anthony.......yes, we are on the DDP.

Pugmalion........thanks for the link - we'll see if any restaurants at Yacht club or Beach Club interest us :)

I would also consider Turf Club at SSR, which is close to DTD (actually not much further of a walk from DTD to Turf Club than it is from BWI to Le Chefs). It's on the dining plan, and a very nice 1TS credit restaurant.

Actually, we will be in Downtown Disney. I thought the boat from Port Orleans went to Boardwalk but I was mistaken. Can we walk from DTD to BW?? Thanks again :)

No you cannot. From DTD, you can walk/boat to Saratoga Springs or boat to Old Key West.
