Does this mean there's hope for the Cubs?

First of all congrats to the Boston Red Sox. 1st because you beat the pants off the Cubs arch rivals, the Cardnals. We Cubs fans LOVE to see that! 2nd, because--beleive me--we feel your pain. Aways so close, yet always so far....

So if the Sox could break their curse and World Series losing streak, does this now mean their is hope for the Cubs?

I sure hope so. Heaven knows none of our other pro teams are worth a darn!

Perhaps the Cubs can....if they can make it to the finals and are up by 3 and the 4th game is played while a lunar eclipse is occurring!!!!

LOL
Seriously.....Congrats to Boston and I would like to see the curse of the goat end also!!

LOL.. my son said that at breakfast this morning... this year it's the Red Sox World Series Champs and next year the CUBS...

How about the White Sox too?! I "figured" it out though, the White Sox won't win again until 2020. For some reason that just makes sense to me since the "Black Sox" scandal of 1919.

Lose Nomar and you might have a chance!

When I go NL I go Cubs, and I can't wait to go see the Red Sox play them in Chi-town next June!!!!!

As a Cubs fan, I don't even want to THINK about the White Sox going to the Series before the Cubs get there. It's not that I wish ill to a fellow Chicago team, I just want the Cubs to alway be better than the White Sox.

What goat thing?

The only time I do NOT cheer for the Cubs is when they play the White Sox. Even then, if the games mean more to the Cubs season at that point, I will kinda cheer for them instead. My DH is a huge Cubs fan, and I have been a White Sox fan since 1982.

I hope that the Cubs can finally make/win it next year too. I really, really do want them to win a World Series, just not against the White Sox! LOL

I'm not sure of the details, but this is how I remember it.

The story goes that back in '42 or when ever it was the Cubs made it to the Series last, that the owner of the Chicago landmark "Billy Goat Tavern" brought his pet goat to one of the games at Wrigley. They would not let him bring the goat into the game. The Cubs lost the Series, and haven't been back since. Everyone thinks the goat or the owner cursed the Cubs.

Thanks Chicago. I never knew that. I guess that I should be surprised. I didn't even know about the Red Sox curse until 2 days ago either.

Can you tell I follow baseball? ;)
