Does this happen to you -- when DISer's are hurting...

I know I won't meet most of the people on these boards. Heck I've only briefly met two Disers. But when I read posts about DISer's having problems, or losing family members.....I get worried and sad. I got tears in my eyes reading about Katholyn's Mom and Becka's pregnancy worries. It's hard having such a big cyber family.

I agree. To be honest, I often am more emotional about DISers hurting than some of my own relatives.

Of course, nobody ever said just because you're related means you'll automatically bond.

Thats why a lot of the times I can't read them. It bothers some people more than others. I'm like that with bad news events too. I think about it too much!

I am the exact same way!

Yes. It's worse when I've actually met the DISer in need.

I haven't met Becka but I have met Kath.....she is as wonderful irl as she is here on the Dis!

It's human nature when you're a caring person, Kallison, as you definitely are. Death and disease tests our own family's mortality or brings back past horror stories.

Here is where people come to voice their pain. You may pass thousands of people a day that are suffering even worse but don't have a place like this to voice it. At least I know here I can always find a kind word, a warm shoulder or a person who's been there.

I'd say it was pure 100% compassion. And an open heart. Welcome to the world of open hearts! If it hurts too much, most likely it's touching on some of your own pain... hang in there - "this too shall pass".

Yes, I get teary-eyed and sad, too. And when I am already down, I cannot read some of them...

Some I open, but some I don't when there seems to be several going. But every one I see whether I open them or not, I say a prayer for.

My life is a constant stream of short prayers for someone here. I don't always post on all the threads but I do think about them.

When I go shopping I'm always seeing something that reminds me of someone here.
