Does this Count as an Anniversary?

I say celebrate whatever you are celebrating :goodvibes

I'm going to Disney with my mom and a friend of mine about a week after I get back to the US after volunteering for a year in Liberia. We're planning to celebrate my (hopefully) safe return and, perhaps more importantly, that my mom survived the experience ;).

At first we were just joking about getting a special cake that says "Congratulations on Surviving World War III" (Liberia has gotten some bad press on CNN recently). But now we're actually going to celebrate it (pavement is gonna be a celebration for me at that point) and we're planning on even getting the buttons that say the generic "I'm Celebrating". :rotfl: If you're doing something special, then it's a celebration.

What is this about putting it on your reservations, though?

I get a lot of funny looks when I wear my buttons as my DH's bday is 4/20, our anniversary is 4/21, and my bday is 4/22. I have heard comments in lines behind me sometimes, as well as getting odd looks from the CM's at the counters and such, but I don't care. My DH usually wears his on his bday only, and our anniversary button on our anniversary only, but I wear my button for my bday ALL the time...

When people ask me, I give them the real date. It is still nice to hear Happy Birthday. However, I don't include it on all my ressies, just the specific days. I wouldn't want to take away the excitement from someone else who is having their bday dinner or anniversary dinner when they also come up to me and are so excited and tell me to have a great night when it's really not my bday.

Have fun and really enjoy it, regardless of what you do...it is WDW after all!:cheer2:

We are going in September...we will be there for my mom's birthday...and its my mom and dad's first time at Disney (actually, its their first time at any type of amusement park).

But the best occasion we are celebrating while we are there...is my dad's recovery from lung cancer...he was diagnosed this past October...had surgery in December and just finished up chemo...granted we have a little it longer to make sure...but as of right now...all his tests results look great:cheer2:

So...celebrate and enjoy!! Its the happiest place on earth!!

Not in my book. When I refer to someone's anniversary, it is of the day they married and not the day they met, first dated, etc.

If you want some of the staff members to say, "Happy Anniversary" to you, put on a pin.

If you want them to wish you a "Happy Birthday" you can wear a pin for that, too.

It's all about what you want to hear. Have fun!
