....."easily offended" wasn't missed....someone i think needs more luving....
in their life?...................................personality disorder ........
represent those in life that are sooooo self centered that they are concern
with everything that everyone is doing and how it is effecting them. the....
problem with this type of thinking is becoming isolated in their own...........
expectations. never taking responsibility for their choices instead they......
either blame others or rationalize their behaviors. bascially they expect.....
everyone to accomdate them whil they have no tolearance for others......
often they were bullies growing up....even their own family are unable to..
cope so eventually they seek out others they can take advantage of.......
only the laws of society set limits and that don't work in all cases............

ok?,,,it's nerve wreckin writin a report where you are describin your
family.....& your feelin. but the best reports i've enjoyed reading are those
including this point of view. it is scary that some try to control others
with their comments...that others forego writin one. i know i've not
done a good job writin..but i learnin from those caring enough to give
positive input...not to make fun of... [i can easily tell the difference.].
when others described thier experiences, i have picked up on many
cool tips.

it intersting to note that i only registered on these boards to asked a
cruise question....then i got into readin some trips reports that were
so ....because they told bout themselves, i could idenitfied
the good, bad & the trills....what i never realized, was my personal
experiences "were made" not by disney the company...but disney people
and meeting strangers, caring to sharee their magic. that's what i am
thinking as the #1 thing i'm enjoying on these wonderful boards! i
thought disney is 4 havin fun in the sun. and if i just meet one person
here than my venture has been sucessful! no kidding...a terrific
person started such a group called the malestromers... and they welcome
anyone..just being themselves and willing to share their luv for all
things Disney...

i know very lil bout board issues....but i seen a few "attack" others..
especially provoking, to hurt feelings and too disrupt a topic. personally,
i don't like those disrespecting the good things DISNEY and those
trying to "rain" on those enjoying it's values. it makes happy reading
some of the things cm's are doing. and beacuse..characters are brought
to life by real people, and because they mean so much to children, i
really don't like others putting them down. there hasn't been one pic
that i haven't enjoyed seeing. [for the record]. it's people makin
dog-a-story comments that i'm truly afaid of.....postin myself.

Why so mean, Li'l Grumpy? I didn't make personal attacks on you. I made a GENERAL gripe. I've never even seen one of your posts till now, so this thread certainly wasn't aimed at you specifically. Yet you have made personal comments toward me (personality disorder, self-centered, mental illness, etc). And yes, when you make long, personal attacks in retaliation, it does appear that you have been offended. If you weren't offended, why do it? You aren't being mean for no reason, are you? hint, hinting... i gave you the benefit of not knowing how your orginal
comments came acrossed to me. goodness me, if i failed to comply
with your proposal then what? you stated the *penalty of not being takin
seriously. well fyi, while i'm not prefect in english matters...my content
has my feelings in it! i think most are doing the same thing and i believe
their trip reports are true. i think you are entitled to have any standards
you want..but to expressed what you did,,, was in my opinion beyond
self control. my first response was my usual format. i did not make up
the definitions that i hoped would assist you in understanding my feelings.
no! ma'am, i was not trying to be mean...but again i see the same type
of projectin & rationalizations. it is hard for me to accept that you
can't see the negative effects..if we don't meet proper english presentation
than all of our reports are meaningless? why should anyone be force into
changing their writing styles to meet your approval? based on your
statments your purpose was well defined. no, i don't like being bullying and
your generalization covered my right to chose.....by using a profiling
technique.
whether you read anything i wrote was irrelevant because your judgments
were self evident... in attempting to have altered the style i'm most
comfortable with. your comments became hurtful when you indicated i
needed to changed...or suffered the penalty. i disagreed and added a lil
insight,... it was my way to encouraged a corrective measure. all i'm
saying, if anyone [not just you] practice the defintions presented,,, then
they will become acclimated. my preference is not to be mean..instead
i would suggest.. when you are readin something confusing, just asked
the writer to clearify...but on an individual level and i would leave
criticism out. ok?...in the spirit of these boards..i belive in helping others.
anytime we meet someone, we can giv them a reason to like or dislike

Sorry, Li'l Grumpy. Your last post does make sense. I didn't stop to think that some people would be sensitive to criticism about too many ellipses. It wouldn't bother me, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't bother others. So I apologize if I didn't phrase it in a nicer way. Some people (like editors, teachers, etc.) work in fields where we need to be conscious of good grammar every day, so stuff like that just jumps out at us. I work with my kindergartners on punctuation every single day, so I do notice it a lot more than the average person.

I, too, hope that you are not mean. Your "hints" came across that way, and I don't think it was too big of a reach for me to perceive them that way.

Bbgrizzle, for the record, I never took this thread too seriously. You were commenting on something that bugged you, which you are entitled to do. I understand your point (no pun intended). And no, I'm not going to stop with the ellipses...

And if you're used to dealing with kindergarteners, your biggest problem is probably getting them not to make a period as big as a lower case "a". What is it about that, anyway? I have a kindergartener of my own and I love to volunteer in the classroom--they are so darned cute!

Hmmm, this is a hard one actually because I am notorious for this...

Normally this only happens when I am ripping off a reply to something in particular. Perhaps, I am actually trying to show the wheels ticking as I type, or I just don't have time to backspace and change the punctuation.

I don't consider message boards, instant messengers, or other such internet communications as formal writing. I would never use this... at work for instance.

Having said that, I do not like l33t speak and junk like this: sum1 for someone, u for you, etc...

At least on a message board, you can just keep scrolling, just keep scrolling, just keep scrooling... just like Dori.

Life is short, don't sweat the small stuff and suddenly you realize that most of it is small stuff...!

Thanks, T&B. I was starting to feel like a great big MEANIE!

My kindergartners make their periods like gigantic, colored-in dots. When we write sentences on the board and I ask them what we are going to put at the end, they say, "A period, because it's the end of a sentence--STOP!!". Just like paigevz said.

What I especially love is how they make their lower case i, with a gigantic dot on top of it. I'm always reminding them, "No lollipops, please!", which they think is hilarious. I love my Kindergartners! My youngest daughter will be in Kindergarten next year. It's such a fun age.

well, ...i'm glad you responded ms. Bdgrizzle ...[so are you married to a
bear of a guy or are you speaking for yourself? sorry, your name tag
is an attention getter which i thought beguiling from the begining.]
. sorry for being nosy..it's my nature.
anyways, i need lots of room for errors.....i'm not
at all experienced with our computer and it makes mistakes...but
if i spent time correcting , i would lose most of the meanings of my
content. also i would run out of time. what i was trying to point out
that regardless of the writing styles, the majority are including their
feelings with their observations. ouch! being brushed off for forgetting
a proper noun is going to leave a negative mark...especially if the
topic was important to a writer. but on the other side, the mistakes
can make the understanding all fuzzy....i do try to correct....and i
have no problem some asking for more details. on occassion,
others have translated one of my computer errors into a whole
different meaning...but it too funny not to correct. to me, this site
represent 2 things...disney and fun. i don't want to be structured so
i guess i'm [but not on purpose] driving the teachers .

i think these boards are for 2 things..disney and for fun. i like trip reports
written with feelings...just my opinions. because i am far from prefect, i
need alot of tolerance. i'm also sorry i misunderstood your intentions. what
i presented are the priemters i used to tell the difference.
