Does the team still travel ro meets?

Im just curious about if different cities still put on Dis meets for the team to travel to for weekends? In previous years it seemed like every tue podcast Pete would mention the different meets that were coming up for the year and there has been nothing mentioned all year about anything. Im just curious if those meets were discontinued

I know that many of the team were at the new England meet last September....they didnt do one this year due to the 10 year mega meet, and i would imagine that is probably true for other meets as well

Yes, several of the regional meets were put on hiatus to allow everyone to focus on this year's mega meet. There is a Delaware meet coming up on October 1 but I don't think they're expecting anyone from the team to attend. NJ has just started talking about their 2017 event and they are in the process of selecting the date. I know the Hershey meet was planned but then cancelled due to the Mega Meet keeping the team occupied and a lot attendees said they couldn't go to both ... but my understanding is the fully expect to hold one in 2017

New England had an event in June. We saw Finding Dory and others included lunch. All the money was given to GKTW at the mega meet.

Lurker emerging to say this post hits the nail on the head for me. I am newer to the Dis, only a year or so and while I am eager to jump in, I wonder if I missed the boat. For instance, the ABDs are booked for 2017 already and no local meet ups in the horizon. Even Pete was amazed at how fast the meet ups at the mega meet filled. I hope it's not too late for opportunities to meet the team or the demand for dis trips is so high now, it will be too difficult to grab. Lots of love and respect to Pete and the team!

Yes, thank you. It's my fault and my learning curve, I'm not accustom to planning trips so far out! I know WDW folks have crystals balls to decide meals 180 days out, but heck I am still deciding about DL at Halloween. I will need to seriously put my adult pants on to get on a trip of Kevin's. I've never planned a vacation so far out! But it's the nature of ABD I guess.

The DIS Meet near Indianapolis is next weekend Sat. August 27. Just look up INDY DIS Meet of FB for the info. No DIS podcasters this year, I believe. I have gone the last three years and have always enjoyed myself. I drive from a Cleve. Ohio suburb. Sadly, I am going to miss this year due to a family event.

Really? This is the first I've heard of it. Usually they promote them on the show. I wonder why that didn't happen this year.

I've wondered why The DIS is no longer involved with Indianapolis this year as well. We plan on going next weekend, but I was disappointed to learn that the Be Our Guest podcast crew will be there and no one from The DIS. Then I remembered that the Indy DIS meet hasn't been mentioned at all on the podcast.

The Indy Meet was never a "DIS" meet per say. It was actually always called "The Indy Disney Meet." I have heard next to nothing about this year's event or it would have been advertised here. There have been no other recent events other than the Mega Meet.

Interesting. I guess I just assumed because it was promoted on the show, it was an official DIS meet. Either way, I'm excited about going. This will be my first one and it will be good to meet other Disney fans around Indy.

I had hoped to go to the Indy Disney Meet this year since we are only a few hours drive away. I was so focused on planning our trip to the Mega Meet ( which we had to cancel) that I didn't pay attention to when the Indy date was.
