No. Internet usage has a cost. Packages are available. Most cruises do offer a 50MB package free, if you sign up on embarkation day by midnight. But that can be gone fast.

Yes. There are several packages you can purchase on board. Also on the first day you can sign up for a free 50 meg package (offer expires at midnight. )

The other thing to consider is if you are using your phone, ensure that you auto-update options are off, otherwise you might blow through your bandwidth pretty dang fast.

I'm thankful it's not free so I have an excuse not to join it. Part of the reason I love cruising is disconnecting from the real world if only for a couple of days. I give work and my family the emergency number and hit airplane mode on the cell.

While I know some people can't do that for one reason or another, I encourage everyone that can to stay off the net on your cruise for a few days. Enjoy the time with your friends or family without the phone distraction.

I'll add, if the boat is near land.... you might be able to use cellular. I do this on my Alaskan ports.
