Does the RCI system ever work?

We closed over a week ago and I was able to get our Club ID and activation code to use the DVC website, but I am still waiting on RCI. Twice I've called and they said they had put in a request to RCI, but we weren't in their system yet. I called back today, a few days later, and now they say the system is down until 2pm. Just venting- I am excited about DVC, but geez this is annoying! Is the RCI system often down or am I just having bad timing?

The "down until 2pm" response suggests, to me, that the problem was in the interface between DVC and RCI -- not RCI itself. I'd be questioning the health of the DVC-side of computing life.

Edited to add: I have a direct RCI account through other timeshare. I just logged in ran a few searches ... don't notice any hangups on the RCI-side. I also checked the Timeshare User's Group forum and didn't see any messages posted about an RCI outage today. Again, me'thinks the problem is on the DVC-side.
