Does the Plaza Restaurant close early in winter?

I'm looking for a dinner on my Magic Kingdom day in February and can't find anything after 4pm, which fair enough...but, I'm noticing that every single day I look, there's nothing available after 4. I looked every day of my trip and even looked at several random days in January and they always have either a 3:30 or a 4pm. Do they just close early in the off season or is Disney's system laughing at me or...? I would've thought that would be a prime location, it's not super expensive, and I'm seeing nothing but good reviews so it's throwing me.

They don't take ressies for much of the day. That's probably why only certain ones are showing up.

Good to know. Is it difficult to get a seat around 5 or 6 typically or would we be better off trying for something like Columbia Harbor house or Pecos Bill or something? We will have eaten at Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch so I don't think we'll want anything heavy, but I'm also hoping to avoid something like turkey legs or Cosmic Ray's (the DIS review looked a bit bleak on that. lol)

Cosmic Ray's is the worst LOL! I mean you can definitely try, and it's well worth it if you can land a table at Plaza, it's a fave of ours. :) Good luck!

They tend to go back and forth on taking reservations only for lunch and then taking reservations all day. Perhaps it is seasonal, if dinner reservations are not showing mid-winter (they are doing dinner reservations right now).

Each time I've had dinner there (with reservations) they are not accepting walk-ups. My assumption would be the wait must not be bad when they aren't accepting reservations but I've never figured out why they do what they do ;)

Yeah, I’ve got my eye on that Reuben and the milkshakes.

That’s good to know. So, maybe it’ll be doable.

I really like The Plaza - and I don’t mind if they want to leave room to accept walk-ups. But I wish they’d publish what their “process” is. I can’t imagine that making it a guessing game is productive for anyone. :confused3
