Does the name on an AP matter?

We will be honeymooning at WDW in August. My airline ressie and hotel ressie are in my maiden name. I have to get my AP when I am down there -- do I put it in my new name or old name? Everyone said to not change my license yet, but if I don't how will I get my AP in my new name which I will need for my return trip? Thanks!

Your AP will have to have whatever name is on your current drivers license as it will be required when purchasing/activating the pass. You can easily have them print a new pass next time you are there by showing your old DL and your new one at guest relations. Honestly once the pass is printed you wont be asked for id unless they suspect foul play with your ticket so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

When you get a new drivers license they make you turn in your old one so there is no way I could have both at the same time to do that. ???

I've never had to turn in my old license. I have all my old ones, even from when I changed my name.

I had the same issue last time we went but it was a little while after we were married. I would suggest getting it in your maiden name now & next time you go down take your new driver's license and a photocopy of your marriage license to change the pass to your new name. For your honeymoon, you probably won't have a copy of your marriage license, & you don't want to bring the original, so just use your maiden name !

Congrats & Have fun!! :Pinkbounc

I also have never turned in an old one. Like I said once you activate the pass there wouldn't really be a reason for them to ask you for id. You can show them your marriage license and see if they will accept that to have your new name on it. If not I still wouldn't worry.I have had an AP since the time I was three years old and I have never been asked for ID.

Different states, different laws....
