Does the Lines app have more updated FP info than MDE?

Once in the parks and wanting to get 4th FP after first 3 are used, does the Lines app have any benefit over MDE?

My trip is several months out and I can see now the live FP availability on the Lines app but not on MDE which is what I expected. But once we are at the parks, is there a reason to use the Lines app? I feel like I'm missing something...Why not just use MDE to see what is available and reserve immediately?

That would be my question. There's no point in using another app if you can use MDE to see what's available immediately and book it

Not at all. Mainly because you can't GET the FP with Lines. May as well use MDE since you have to use that for the FP anyway. You'd do nothing but waste time, and probably loose the FP, by switching between the 2

I only use the Lines App for Wait times. MDE doesn't do those well at all.

I use Lines for more accurate wait times and MDE (checking every 5 min) for Fastpass availability.

Thanks - that makes sense. Somewhere?? I read about someone who really likes the Lines app for seeing FP availability and it made me wonder why. Now from my perspective with a trip during this exact week next year, it has been interesting to watch Lines and see which FP are still available day of.

I don't think the MDE app will show you available times for each ride until you tap on the ride. Lines will list all rides with the next available FP+ time. So, if you're looking for a FP+ in the next hour, you can start with Lines to figure out which ride is likely to have something available, rather than clicking on 7 or 8 different rides in MDE only to discover that the next available time is five hours from now.

Of course, if I'm misremembering how MDE shows FP+ availability, then Lines might be pointless.

Based on the spot checks I've done, their FP availability is not real time. I know it indicates they are available as of the time shown but it doesn't translate to what is actually available if you were truly trying to book a FP. I believe there is a lag but I haven't a clue how much. Really, all in all, from what I've checked, the FP availability portion of Lines is pretty useless

I looked at the FP availability of Lines while we were at the parks last week, and saw that it said that the next FP for GMR was available in just 10 mins when in reality it was not until a couple of hours away. Didn't use it for FP checks again after that.

I believe that Lines shows FP+ for a single rider - lots more availability that way and so not really helpful if you are looking for FP+s for two or more riders.

Yes. And the FP availability changes dramatically second to second so even if you're a party of 1 by the time you switch to MDE it could be totally different.
