Does the Hyperion allow food now?

We might finally have mostly gotten over the loss of the Aladdin show now and may watch Frozen this time around. When reading up on it, I saw something about a concession stand? Did the theater change its strict “no food” policy since the Aladdin-era and, if yes, would we be able to bring snacks or drinks from other parts of the park, too? Inquiring minds want to know...

I brought a frozen coffee drink into the Hyperion a year ago. I do recall seeing a concession stand right near entrance to the queue.

When we went last, there was a family eating trays of sushi in there (from outside the parks, I think..), and no one batted an eye. So I'd say yes, you can.

Side note - the Frozen show is really good. We also loved Aladdin and were sad to see it go, but we were pleasantly surprised by the Frozen show.

That is my go-to mid-afternoon plan for DCA -- grab a snack nearby, eat while I relax in the air-conditioned theater. They have CMs walking up and down the aisle selling popcorn/candy, so they are encouraging you to consume food inside!

I highly recommend Frozen! We, too, were sad over Aladdin ending and didn't ever want to see Frozen because of it. But we tried it one super-rainy day and can't recommend Frozen enough!! It's a must-do every trip now (we even see it multiple times lol). It's such a nice retreat from the crowds and heat.

Plus, if you catch one of the later shows you can bring Rita's frozen margaritas in! ::yes::

As a theater professional I hate the concept of people eating during a live show. I find it disrespectful and distracting to the performers and the rest of the patrons.

As a theme park patron, I like being able to eat wherever I want. I think my professional side wins out in this case, though.

Yes, they sell concessions now. And, I’m with you on missing Aladdin. We’ve seen the Frozen production 2-3x and I can’t stomach it anymore. I wish they’d switch up the shows a little more often.

I'm with you on this, but my theme park side wins out. When the 3 year old next to you is belting Let it Go at the top of her lungs, you have to let the theatre side go.
