Does the Hotel New York have a buffet restaurant?

Yes, it does. Its called the Parkside Diner.

The Disneyland Hotel also has a buffet called Inventions.... The Newport Bay has Cape Cod and the Sequoia's restaurants are both buffets (Though in one I believe you choose your main dish off a menu).... I'm afraid I don't know about the Santa Fe or Cheyenne...

Both the Santa Fe and the Cheyenne have buffet restuarants Bob :thumbsup2

Yep, sadly the buffets have invaded and ruined the DLP dinning experiences.

You can find buffets at:

DLP - Plaza Gardens, Lucky Nugget (I remember the days of table service with a live Cancan show), Agrabah Cafe
WDSP - Redevouz des Stars
DLH
HNY (Parkside used to be a fab little restaurant with the best burger on property and great value)
BOTH (rediculous) in SL (used to have a wonderful served at table rotisserie meal in the Hunter's Grill - no longer)
NBC
Cheyenne (used to offer a wonderful selection al a carte)
Santa Fe (as Cheyenne)
Village - Le Grange at Billy Bob's

Can you tell I think the buffets are ruining DLP?

;) Just a bit Dave.

There are other choices though, if you prefer not to have buffet meals. I'm guessing that DLRP have so many buffets because they suit some guests (including me, I have to say, as I get to sample things for the first time, without ordering a whole main course which I may end up not liking).

Haha! I'm not a fan of buffets either.

I have seen a few reviews for Parkside Diner and their not very good, so I would try one of the others personally.....

We share more than just our name! ;)

My family like buffets too ~ this way we can afford to be adventurous without maybe regretting it! :rotfl:

I ate at New york hotel last year and my whole family thought it was delicious.

I much prefer buffets, gives more choice for the whole family and at a good price with half board plus :)

When we want a proper table service meal, there are still plenty of restaurants and choices to choose :)

Each to their own though lol

Hmmm, I have never seen anything too adventurous at DLP, except maybe at the Blue Lagoon. Lol.

I don't have anything against buffets per se, but I do find the buffets only option at the value resorts and 2 buffets at the SL to be rediculous. 1 buffet at a value (and food court at the other) and 1 buffet at the SL seems much more sensible to me.

In October, it seemed like every hotel was a buffet (Manhatten Grill was shut) except the DLH. That hacked me off. as someone who attends a lot of conferences, I don't like buffets, they bore me, I prefer to be served at my table, and some of the ante hygenic behavours I have seen by others are not great. Also as a big guy, I don't like the way people look at me at a buffet.

It's not like any of the buffet restaurants are on the scale of Boma, or Goofy's KItchen, the scale is so much smaller at DLP. It just seems like a cost cutting (and quality) measure.

I agree, it does seem silly having two buffets at the same hotel. I'm sure you're right in that it is much cheaper and this is the reason why DLRP are doing it. I guess this is a sign of the times ~ we found the Steakhouse Brunch to have inferior offerings than when we went two and three years ago but still thoroughly enjoyed it.

As Melody said ~ each to their own. :goodvibes I'd love to try California Grill but won't go until it's just DH and me as although none of my DDs are fussy eaters I know my younger two wouldn't enjoy eating there.

Lol, mine are fussy too. They don't like the kids menus, but prefer to eat the adult menus at the Silver Spur, Steak House and Cal Grill. Lol It hsa gotten to the point where there are few counter service offerings they will touch (other than ribs or mexican - those are great in their books). Why did I have to teach them to enjoy finer meals?! :rotfl2:

I have to admit, I quite like the idea of what they've done with the Beaver Creek Tavern in the Sequoia Lodge (starter and dessert buffet with a table service style main). I think that's a good idea because for me, starter and dessert are the two courses I'm most likely to want to eat a selection of things.

I like having a good share of buffet and table service to choose from around the resort, but also think that they're leaning a little heavily toward the buffet side of things for my liking.

I think this too. Plus, I think buffets rarely work out value for money....

It's not a huge deal durring the summer when the park keeps late hours. But in the off peak, there are 8 table service and 8 buffets in the resort, and for me that is not a good mix. And when you have little ones, them having some of yours in a table service works out as a much better deal.
