Thinking of staying at the Swan for our next trip...I've read the threads but have seen little of those disney loyalist who love the Swan/Dolphin....do you get the same magic? Or do you feel like you are staying in a convention hotel? Help me decide? Thanks!

I've always felt the Disney Magic when we stayed at the Swan. Never been a problem for our family one bit. :)

Really, it's right in the middle of it all, just like the other Epcot area resorts. Many of the rooms have Disney views.

You get the exact same transportation as the Disney Epcot resorts, boat and bus.

The walk to the Boardwalk is very short.

You can walk all the way to Epcot or MGM if you wish.

There's a Disney giftshop in both the Swan and the Dolphin.

There's a Disney guest services counter in both too.

The pool rivals any of Disney's, even better than most.

Have yourself a wonderful trip. The magic is everywhere.

If you plan on just staying at the hotel then the Swan might not immerse you enough in "Disney Magic" (which really makes no sense at all). If you plan to use the hotel for sleeping, pool and some eating then the Swan is an excellent choice.

We had been to WDW twice before and stayed at PO (when it was Dixie Landings) and CBR. We were a little hesitant to try the Swan. We got a great price so decided to go for it. We were very pleasantly suprised! Here are the things we liked:

The pool area was absolutely fabulous.

The view of Tower of Terror from the Swan hotel bus stop...really cool!

Walking to the Boardwalk for dinner at ESPN.

Walking home from Epcot rather than waiting in a long line.

Listening to fireworks every night from Fantasmic and Illuminations.

The boat transportation is the best..so convenient.

The renovated rooms are very nice.

We loved everything about it and couldn't believe we were hesitant to book the Swan. It definitely is a convention hotel...there was a huge white pavilion set up over the walkway betweent he S/D while we were there. The conventioners shared the elevators and hallways with us...just like any other traveler. I think the bus/boat and pool are much less crowded than Disney hotels because so many of the guests are conventioners in meetings.

We would stay there again in a minute..

Hope this helps you make your decision! Have a great trip

We have just returned from a 14 night visit to the Swan. Within 48hrs of being home I now have a 16 night reservation for 2004.

We loved it. !!
