Thinking about our next trip. We didn't account for being charged for internet (my own oversight). We are thinking about staying at Shades of Green for the first leg of our trip, do they have an internet charge fee, like the Disney resorts?

Internet, i believe, is $6.95 per day. You may want to check with them to be sure of price by contacting them at:

Hotel Direct: (407) 824-3400
Hotel Fax: (407) 824-3460
Guest Services: (407) 824-1403 7 Days 0700-2100

Yes they do charge. It's $6.95 a day. However, somehow, I was able to use Wide World of Sports internet (not sure why we got it all the way over there) most of my stay and that was free (although slower..fine for checking mail)

When we were there July 2006, it was $6.95 for a full 24 hour period. You put your credit card number on the sign up page (internet page) to get connected. You will then have a full 24 hour period to use the net. This means if you sign up at 1pm on Sat, you have it until 1pm on Sun.

The real problem we encountered (and I hope it has been resolved by now) is the only places you could get a signal was in the lobby and right outside Evergreens on that small smoking section decking. There was something about the rooms that made it impossible to get a signal. Made it really inconvenient to have to walk all the way out to the lobby at midnight to check mail, etc.

When you pay for internet service there it's for High Speed internet access with an ethernet cable, not WiFi - wireless. You probably were tapping into the World of Sports Internet like I did. With the ethernet cable, you don't leave your room, you're actually connected. (In other words, you paid for the High Speed internet with the cable, but didn't use it...)

If you don't have an ethernet cable, you can borrow one from the front desk. It's much faster than the World of Sports connection (although if you can get it, the sports connection is free and wireless)

I'm sorry, this is not correct. I went to the front desk and they gave me the info to get on the site. From there, I gave my credit card # and it connected me to the internet.....$6.95 for a 24 hour period. It was SHADES OF GREEN specific access. It was indeed WIFI. Everyone else in the lobby was using the same service.....SHADES OF GREEN WIFI access because we were talking about the inconvenience of having to leave our room. I asked at the front desk if the rooms could gain access and they said no. I even tried it. There was no signal.

I was not aware of that. Maybe they do have Wifi in the lobby, I never used it. It would make sense. However there IS an ethernet connection in the room. I know this because I used it this past June, and the front desk gave me the cable to plug it in.

My daughter use her internet in her room with a cable hook up also last March. She had some work to do and my other daughter was taking an on-line course during our stay and had to send her work in on time.

Thanks everyone for letting me know internet is available in room with a cable. When we were there last year, I was simply told I could not get internet in my room. Had they given me the option of cable use internet, I would have opted for that instead. They just said I would only get internet in the lobby and going by the number of other people in the lobby late at night (it looked like internet cafe), seems maybe the front desk staff was not knowledgeable or either they just did not offer in room cable internet.

In June we used the cable internet service in our room. We were given the option of wi-fi in the lobby or having service available in the room for $6.95/24 hrs. We only saw a few people using the wi-fi. There are also public computers off the lobby with a printer. They have an hourly charge. If you only need to use the computer for a short time each day, it might be cheaper. I used a public computer to print our airline boarding passes. It took about 10 min. and the total cost for being online and printing was $1.50.

The public computers do get a bit busy, but if you just need to check messages now and then its the way to go! We used them a couple of times at night and probably didnt spend more than $5.

Do you remember how much per hour the public computer cost? It sounds like it is very cheap!
