I just sneezed and my dog went flying across the room out of a dead sleep. :rotfl2:

He does this almost every time I sneeze, LOL!! I don't know what it is that sets him off but it's pretty funny. :rotfl:

OMG that is so funny, our beagle acts scared to death when someone sneezes. He'll go running to someon else's lap and just sit there an shake. Of course this is the same dog that goes running every time the kitchen timer on the oven goes off (probably because usually when I open the oven door it sets the smoke detector off :rotfl:) It doesn't seem to bother our other two dogs.

Yep! I have a "high-pitched" sneeze and my toy poodle freaks, jumps up, does her "alarm" bark which is MORE highpitched, startles the big dog and HE jumps up looking around in total confusion trying to figure out what is "wrong" and what he should be doing about it and how to shut the poodle up!

Had to comment - people sneezing does not bother our dog, but when HE sneezes it's so violent that he whacks his face on the floor and blows himself across the room. Considering he usually sneezes at least three times in a row, it's a wonder he doesn't have brain damage by now!

I got a new coffeepot for Christmas that has a built in grinder. When you turn it on it's piercing, then the noise increases to what sounds like a jet taking off. :lmao: She's getting used to it but it did cause my dog to startle a bit at first, lol.

sneezing has the same effect on all 3 of our cats..you might think someone dropped a pan on the floor near them..they screech, jump up and run out of the room...animals are too funny sometimes!

LOL - My sheltie freaks out when anyone sneezes.

My future in-laws' shelties freak out when someone sneezes, too. Then again, they also freak out at the doorbell, cars driving by, the can opener, their pet bunny making any noises whatsoever... :goodvibes

My dog doesn't freak out with sneezes, but my brothers daughter (who is 18 months) STILL cries when my brother sneezes. He has one of those absurdly loud sneezes. Control that sucker! On the other hand, anytime I sneeze, people ask why my dog and cat sneeze so much. I don't have a cat and I've never heard my dog sneeze.

That's our dog too! LOL

We used to have a Corgi who's behavior took a turn for the worse when our son was born.

Sneezing was the first sounds in which he reacted to, but he would come bark in your face to the point where he could/would have bitten you. It got to the point where I was holding in my sneezes ... still a habit I have a hard time breaking now a year and half after he found a new home. It got the point where the phone ringing, the oven timer going off and then the oven just being on would set him into a barking frenzy which involved jumping on us and even nipping a few times. The first time he actually bite me and drew blood was simply because the phone was ringing. Very bad .... Poor guy. He is now living on a farm with other dogs in Florida and appears to be doing very well ... not a good dog to have with little kids in the house.

No, but our cat jumps up when my dh does a ummm...loud bodily function in the living room... :rolleyes1

Sneezing doesn't bother my beagle, but he will bark for hours at a leaf blowing across the yard or if he hears a car door slam 2 blocks away. Yet when I come home late at night from work he doesn't even wake up :rolleyes1

My parents dog freaks out when he hears sneezing or if someone passes gas. My family teases the dog just by making the noise with their mouth. He puts his head between his legs, tail down, crouches down and gets out of the room as soon as he hears it. He's scared of everything (he's a large dog so it's funny to see him hide from things like squirrls, small dogs, all cats and most kids other than my girls!)

My 7 year old looked at him hiding under the table the other day and said "Is Harley (my parents dog) a special needs dog?" and we all laughed so hard the dog got scared...

Okay, so does anyone else's dog break wind and then turn around and look for it?? :lmao:

I work with a few co-workers who have the most high pitched, annoying sneezes that actually scare me when they happen.

every time i sneeze or cough my beagle gets very distressed. he stares at me and insists on crawling on top of me and waits until he feels it's safe to return to his spot. very funny!
