Does Santa wrap the gifts he leaves at your house?

He wraps the ones he leaves here but I've heard he doesn't wrap everybody's gifts. Thought I'd start a poll.

Yes, just like we've all seen in countless Christmas movies and animated specials, Santa delivers his gifts to our house wrapped and ribboned, just like when I was a kid! ;)

Yes he does, and he is always sure to buy wrapping paper that mom and dad don't use. :rolleyes1

He does around my house, but he never did when I was a kid. Go figure.

Not only do I recall Santa wrapping my presents, apparently he liked to make early December deliveries and have the same handwriting as my mother.
Yeah, real slick there mom... :rotfl2:

Yes! My mom did this and I did it as well when my DD was little. And even now I still write out my DD's gift tags to say "From" a variety of Christmas characters: the elves, Rudolph, Mrs. Claus, etc. that fit with the gift.

i.e. Mrs. Claus would give a bathrobe, pj's, or slippers...something like that.
Rudolph gave a flashlight one year. The elves always give something fun.

My mom always did that too, and I like to carry on the tradition.

Merry Christmas!

This topic just came up at work yesterday and I was shocked that there were Santas out there that didn't wrap! I was the only one who's Santa always wrapped gifts in special "santa" paper. We don't have kids and santa brings gifts for our pets and they are wrapped too. :)

I have it on good authority that Santa is bringing DD1 1/2 a big kitchen playset, so it will be out on display and not wrapped so she can start playing with it right away. Santa will be wrapping everything else of regular size...

Santa does this at my house as well. He also uses a black marker and just block prints the name on.

I voted yes, he wraps and it has to be paper with Santa on it.

My kids get a fairly small quantity of presents, so if they were unwrapped it would all be over in a matter of moments! So yes, we wrap, and take turns unwrapping.

Not only does Santa wrap, he also numbers the gifts instead of using name tags. That way, curious kids don't have any idea who that huge box belongs to. Plus, it allows Santa to dictate the order in which gifts are unwrapped so that the XBox 360 game does not get unveiled before the XBox 360. It slows down the mayhem a bit and gives us each a chance to appreciate what everyone has received. Santa always leaves a list for Mom to refer to so that she knows who gets what gift. Growing up, my kids couldn't understand why they were the only ones that Santa did this for. :confused3

We have Santa Gifts open sitting in front if the tree Christmas morning..
The family gifts are wrapped..
I guess it just goes with family traditions ..

No. Santa doesn't wrap for us. He leaves all his gifts (3 for each kid) by the stockings and fireplace in the family room. All the rest of the gifts (the ones we give each other) are under the tree in the formal living room.

DD always anticipates Christmas watching wrapped gifts go under the tree and trying to guess what is inside. But what makes Christmas so special is knowing on Christmas Eve, Santa comes and she always wakes up while it is still dark to see what Santa brought. His gifts are never wrapped. DD's favorite Christmas movie is The Santa Claus and in that movie, the gifts from Santa are not wrapped. It was always so special to know DD would spend an hour discovering and playing with what Santa brought before she would wake us to show us what all she got from Santa. Then the opening of gifts proceeds. But it is that magical moment when DD gets up and discovers Santa came, that makes it all worth while. :cloud9:

Santa wraps the kids' presents (1 each). He also wraps some, but not all, of their stocking stuffers.

Same here, never thought about it untill my DSIL told me not to use the same paper. My oldest was around 2

No no no! Santa leaves his huge sack on our living room, full of the [unwrapped] presents he leaves. They are labeled and DH pulls them out one by one.

The Santa's sack tradition was stared by DH's family. I made a HUGE sack. You wouldn't believe all the stuff that has fit in there over the years!

Here is how we DRAG out present opening until about noon:

1. The presents in Santa's sack are distributed.

2. Mom starts a very nice Christmas breakfast.

3. While breakfast is cooking, we open stockings.

4. We eat a nice breakfast.

5. We open the wrapped presents. We go around the room and each person takes turns opening one present. That way it lasts a LONG time.

6. We have these silver ornaments that open up that are suspended from a light fixture. At some point, someone remembers those, and those are the last presents.
