Does refillable mug come with Free Dining Plan?

Hi
No this is an extra $12 ( I think) for each mug, only to be used at the resort you are staying at.
we purchase them every time we stay. The kids love to run up and refill, they also make great take along mugs at home!!

The refillable mug is included with the Deluxe Dining Plan, not the basic. The basic plan is what's offered with free dining, although it is possible to upgrade to deluxe by paying the difference.

Still think the mug is a waste of money unless you are a coffee drinker. We bought 2 12packs of coke at Hess (near HS) for $6. A mug doesn't even hold 12 oz when you add ice. For the $13 that 1 mug costs I would be able to get 48 cans of soda. I stopped buying the mug when they went to $8. It just wasn't worth it.

We think the mugs are a great value if you are staying for any length of time. Plus they make great souviners when you get home!!

We love buying the mugs, too, and plan on doing so for this trip. If you aren't going to a store, I think they are more than worth the money. We looked at it this way: it's about $2 to buy water in the park, so every time you fill the mug with water, take that off the price you'd have paid for a bottle.

I loved our mugs we got at Coronado as they were Coronado themed mugs. Is it correct the other resort mugs are not branded therefore you can use them at any resort you are visiting?

OR if you are a tea drinker, hot chocolate drinker, or simply have a taste for a fountain soda rather than a can or bottle....(guilty as charged! :lmao: ) If you have no preference then, yes, they can be less valuable to you....but if you are like me and open a can or bottle and take 4-5 sips and toss it because it does not "taste right" (like a real fountain soda should), well.....the refillable mugs can be priceless. :goodvibes

Or you could ask for a FREE glass of water.

we love the mugs, we count them as our cost of trip money, and then every sat morning when I take my daughter to dance I sit with any one of my mugs (we have 6) and it usually starts a conversation with someone about my favourite place WDW!!!

We usually get the mugs too... get a cup of coffee to go with breakfast, then wash and refill with something cold before we get on the bus, then bring to the park and fill periodically with ice and fountain water (I live in Florida so I have no problem with Disney tap water!) It's great at the parks because the ice takes longer to melt in the mugs than in a regular plastic glass that they give you the ice in.

So, I have cold water all day while I'm in the parks!

Then we always get something else on the way back to the room in the evening, so it's pretty handy... and a great souvenir to bring home!

I usually don't get the full value of the mugs. We just returned from our six day Disney 2008 vacation... time to start planning on 2009. We had the DxDP which included the mugs.

My problem is unique to single parents of younger children. In the early mornings when I really want to fill my mug with coffee, I have this darling daughter sound asleep in the bed. How bad do I want this coffee? Will I get back before she wakes up? Would she freak out if I wasn't in the room when she did wake up? This year I solved the problem by bringing a coffee maker.

The evenings are a similar problem, more days than not I wind up carrying a sleeping princess (DD6) from the bus to the room. Now, since I don't feel comfortable leaving her in the room alone to go to the food court, the mug isn't going to work but the vending machine? It's close enough.

We got the mugs as part of the DxDP, it would not have been worth the $13 for us to buy one. We probably used them 3 times the week we were there. Nice souvenier though.

I thought you could buy a fountain drink in a regular cup. Can you not do this anymore? Like, if I want a coke, do I have to buy a bottle or can?

You can (at the resorts and the parks)...I was referring to the fact that I do not like to buy canned or bottled cokes for the room (like from the grocery store, Hess Station, or Garden Grocer) instead of simply buying my refillable mug. I do not have a problem with those that the cans or bottles satisfy, but they simply do not satisfy my craving for a "real coke"....just my preference.:goodvibes We just always figure in the cost of our mugs as part of the cost of our trip and not think about it again.

We always go in the off season and it is colder in mornings and evenings. My husband is a soda drinker in the mornings and I like coffee. We both like hot chocolate when coming "home" in the evenings since this is something we just don't do at home, and it can be cold there in December! We like the mugs for those in addition to sodas here and there and the ability to fill them at the parks with water from the drinking fountain. We just bring gallon ziplocs and I put them in our bags. For us it is worth the money. If we had the kids with us we probably would not get them. In fact, the last trip we took with the kids we checked in to Pop and went right to the food court to eat. We bought the mugs and then when we got to our 2 connecting rooms we decided it was not the place for us and moved to WL. Therefore we really did not get our money's worth! Still, I use them daily here at home to take my coffee to work! My only hesitation on whether to get them this time is if I room for them in my cabinet!

We are staying at Pop instead of our usual Sports this time. I am wondering if they are the same mugs we bought in April. Anyone have a current picture?

They are the Year of a Million Dreams!

I like buying a new mug everytime also. I like my collection.

I think all the soda I was drinking is what was keeping me so wide awake and ready to keep going. I was surviving on 7 hrs or less of sleep most nights for 2 weeks. I don't normally drink soda, once or maybe twice a month.

We always buy mugs too. Although, we went in Sept. 2006 last time and are not returning till 2009. I wonder what the cost of mugs were in 2006 when we last visited...I can't remember, but know that we bought some.

I agree it is part of the disney charm that we like when we visit. If we go to other theme parks or ball games we buy the mugs also. However, I do know that you are paying for the mouse when you go to disney so many things are a little higher than at other parks, but other parks just don't add up to disney!
