I know they sell cakes as small as 6 inches...both my kids are having birthdays this year while we are at AKV (2 days apart), but does Publix have cupcakes as well? Marge from wegoshop is going to be getting my groceries. Not sure I want two cakes even small ones...my DD says she doesn't like cake anymore :confused3

Publix also bakes fresh on site and make the best Cannoli :worship:

Thank you for sharing this! I am always on the hunt for a good cannoli and we always stop at Publix near WDW. I will be sure to try one!

The best one I ever had was in Erice on Sicily while on the Disney Med cruise last summer - I would go back there just for the cannoli; it was THAT good!!!

Publix has the. best. birthday cake. Get the buttercream frosting. Mmmmmmm.

When I was pregnant I would order birthday cakes just for myself. They always asked what name I wanted and I was like "oh.. no name - just the cake"

Publix has an excellent bakery and yes, they have cupcakes.

I agree!! We always pick up extra goodies when there and the cakes in the case are just beautiful!! My husband says the carrot cake is the best.

Anybody know whether the cupcakes are single-purchase items? or do they come in packs (as at my local grocery store - packs of six). I don't really need to have four cupcakes tempting me all week...the kids will only eat one apiece.

i LOOOOVE cupcakes! Sprinkles anyone? If you have anything left over, let me know!

Our Publix sells them in 6-packs. But seriously, consider the small cake - they can do all sorts of adorable Disney decorations and the leftover cake is sooooooo good refrigerated. I'm not a big cake eater - but Publix birthday cake is just amazing.

Starbox... I'm sensing a serious weakness here.... ;)

"I'm not a big cake eater" = Denial :sad2:

OCD = Obsessive Cake Disorder

This is the question you need answered, seriously. This is the make or break for your kids birthday. Yikes!!!!!

Just a thought, our Publix sells small Carvel soft-serve ice cream birthday cakes in the frozen food section.

Never said it was a matter of life and death (what is, on the Dis, other than the age-old question of whether Southwest agents will try every method possible to separate someone from their toddler? :rotfl: ) A suggestion, don't open the thread if you think it's a stupid question?

I only need half a cupcake... can I buy just a half? Maybe the baker can just take a few bites out of one for me. Gotta watch those points!!!:rolleyes1

The question had mostly to do with whether they only have prepackaged generic cupcakes or nicely decorated single-purchase items (like this: http://www.nyceats.net/photos/eats/cupcakeporn.html)

I love how some people have nothing better to do than get on the Dis and hijack threads to ridicule the question (:rolleyes1).

you do know that most restuarants if you tell them in advance and when you arrive - will bring out a cupcake just for them.

my niece loved it - got one that morning at Olivia - when they still had the characters -

got another one that night from Chef Mickey's.

at character meals every one sings to the birthday folks...

guess at a regular restuarant too?
