Does Pop Warner affect the DVC resorts at all?

Not that I can get a DVC studio during that time, so our back up plan is CBR. I am just crossing my fingers that CBR doesn't have a block of rooms for PW attendees.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people Orlando can hold. I am actually travelling there to go to a conference that will have 20,000 attendees at the convention center....just one section of the convention center. And most of those people will probably never even cross paths with the Pop Warnerites....

Lucky DH, he gets to golf and otherwise relax while I do the conference thing. I'll have part of every day free, tho, so I can't complain, and will end up being there for my birthday, so hopefully will be able to have dinner at the Cali Grill.

Years ago (before we became DVCers) we stayed at ASMu during Pop Warner. It was unbelievably noisy and crowded (and maybe that's what pushed us into DVC ), but IMO, the Values would be more impacted than the rest of the resorts.
We didn't notice it affecting the parks, though.

It hasn't happened at Pop Warner, but last year during the NCA finals (April or May), WDW overbooked the All-stars. They began to call non-cheerleading guests, and offer them a free upgrade to OKW or SSR. The resort boards were all abuzz about this.

I don't think that could ever happen in early December because DVC is usually completely sold out, but if SSR were to release rooms into the system last minute (due to completion), I guess theoretically it could happen. But, it is not very likely.

They will not book any large groups, a la Pop Warner, into Pop Century. None. Travel agents were told this during a tour.

Plus, they also mentioned that in the future they are considering booking offsite rooms for their large groups because of the number of complaints.

Those poor POP Warners!!!!!! Lots of energy. It is quite the sight to see them all in the pool. A definite Disney photo shot. Looks like a bathtub.

Pop Warner teams usually stay at the Value or Moderate resorts.

Cheerleading Worlds will April 20 weekend next year and there will be many at the All Star Resorts!! If DD's teams makes it again............she will stay there with her team and this year, we will stay at our home of OKW!! No more Allstar Sports for me!! LOL!

I've stayed at BWV when they were at WDW, no problem.

Us too. We never saw them at the resort or on the boardwalk. We did see small groups of cheerleaders in the parks-maybe 10 girls and two adults. You can easily spot them with their matching outfits and minnie ear headbands. The groups we saw were all quiet and well behaved, but we did hear from a family waiting to go into the Canada show that two squads of cheerleaders got into a fight on their bus-hair pulling and everything! They were staying at one of the all-stars. Maybe the squads were big rivals, or maybe one squad copied the others choice of minnie ear headbands. One never knows with these things.
