Does Pop Century...

And does it ever need it. I don't know how many people can stay at the All Star Resorts, but Pop is huge. After a VERY long day at MK we walked 900 miles (in the snow, up hill and all that - but seriously - to the VERY last bus stop) to catch the Pop bus. We went past bus stops with quite a few people waiting, 1 bus full sometimes a little more, most times less, and then came to the Pop stop. The people didn't even fit in the waiting area. It took at least 4 or 5 busses to get to us, and there were more that came behind us. That was my biggest complaint about Pop, it was so big. That's what I get for going cheap!!

Pop (when it's done) will have 5760 rooms!!!!! Remember only half of Pop is built yet.

Each of the All Star Resorts has 1,920 rooms for a total of 5760.

Imagine when it's filled to capacity!?! If everyroom in the All Star and Pop had just 2 people that would be 23,040 people! Isn't Disney amazing?

For some reason Pop does seem bigger? more spread out to me. and the parking is strange.. it seems like we can't ever park anywhere near our room.

PC has a lot of people, but they also have a lot of buses. We never had to wait more than five minutes for a bus, and when one bus wasn't enough, another one showed up a few minutes later. Sometimes another bus was there before the first one left.

I heard a lot of people at the other bus stops groan when the PC buses went by - they were still waiting for their bus, and we had two!

We stayed at Pop Century last August and on the first day we got a bus with no air. I almost passed out. I said to my wife that I hope this is not an indication of cost cutting. The next day the bus was air conditioned and cool. We had to wait sometimes, but for the most part it was not bad at all.

Well now here is the funny bus story part: The first night returning from the park the line was very very long. There was this very nerdy couple with their two kids. Everyone was tired and patient like most civilized people are on vacation. Well this real nerdy guy strated freaking out. He was yelling at anyone who would listen and anyone that he thought was a Disney employee. Me and my wife were getting real annyoed. When we got on the bus he practically jumped over this older lady to get the last seat on the bus. My wife just shook her head in amazement. I just told my wife that he was probably the guy who got beat up in high school all the time so now as an adult - he feels like no one is going to get over on him. Well for the rest of the trip we constantly ran into this nerdy family and everytime we saw them they were mad or frantic looking. They would get on lines and then get off - it become a joke for the rest of my trip. We saw them at Planet Hollywood and they were complaining to the waiter tht the music was too loud. LOL.

The lesson I learned from this nerdy family is this: When you go to Disney - no matter what the situation make the best of it. You are IMHO at one of the greatest vacation destinations in the world so enjoy it and relax. Yes there will be some lines and not everything will go as planned, but don't forget to civilized and happy - you are on vacation.

Oh and Have fun.

Oh, I hate that you saw us at our worst. . .Jusk kidding!!! :earseek:

I know, we ran into a family like that at dinner. . . the man was griping about having to wait when he had "reservations" I wanted to explain that they had priority seating NOT reservations. He was obviously a jerk. They had just been to CP (as had we) I thought it was marvelous, but he was making fun of how they pronounced "Hallelujah". It sounded like his mom or mother in law (who was with them) was a music teacher or director of some sort, but still, good grief, I was very thankful when we were called and could leave the area. Exhaustion, migraine and obnoixious jerk, not a good combo. (btw, we were also told we had the same wait as them, we were called in less than 5 minutes, but when I went to the restroom at least 15 min later - they were just getting up - I thought - serves you right!!)
