Does Pixie Dust Help with Decision-Making? A 2012 PTR! NEW! 6/30 pg.85

It seems odd that school is already out for you even though my big kindergartener only has 3 weeks left until she will be a big 1st grader! Time flies!

It's nice of them to end school so you can have time to focus on more important things like Disney planning. :thumbsup2

Good for you for deciding on a go with the flow plan of attack. I'm not yet at a point where I can let go that much, but we are also lucky to travel at much less crowded times!

What's the deal with watching the Kureug?! I have to admit after we opened ours all had ot gather around it to watch it make coffee! :rotfl2:

First of all...congrats on the end of the school year!!! :woohoo: I'm counting down...just finished my evaluation and 3 more weeks to go! :thumbsup2

LOVE your Mother's Day gifts...very cool! :cool1:

I love your "go with the flow" plan. It's always nice to have a few things planned, but I find that our most enjoyable trips were the ones that sort of took form as we went! :goodvibes You've got to be getting so excited...the 4th is just around the corner!!!

:rotfl: Cheerwine is just cherry-flavored soda, but it is like gold here! Not many places sell it in GA. The farmer's market where I found it also had a vat of boiled peanuts -- I should have taken a picture for you. :rotfl: Next time! Next time! ;)

HA! Yes, please, take a photo of boiled peanuts... what on earth do they taste like? Hmmm.. Oh I dunno, boiled peanuts??!!

We could all meet up at Pecos if you want. Connor and your two could start getting to know each other. We can decide the day of, of course.

Oh I am totally liking this idea, seriously! The hesitation I have is the idea of dragging two, or at least one, sacked out kid at the end of the night into line for the boat... which at MNSSHP was a LONG LONG line for Michelle and I, never mind a 6 year old! Well he will be 7 by then, but seriously, he isn't getting any lighter!! LOL!! Nolyn weighs the same as Griffin. We need to get this kid play football or lacrosse or something, I'm telling you. ANYHOW, I digress!, so the thought behind parking at the Contemporary was
so that we could have a shorter, easier time of it, just walking back to that parkinglot... I am going to cancel my Cali ressie, (we have one with Matt our last night) and just keep the Wave ressie (maybe move it up a little) so I can go get them something quick to eat, and get myself a drink and an app and call that dinner. Then it is a shorter walk over to find you guys. Depending on the time, it may be we meet you at Pecos Bill :thumbsup2 Anyhow! I feel stupid driving since we are at WLV, but knowing the crowd, and remembering that line for the boat (right after fireworks) I am just trying to think the best case scenario... I even considered bringing our little stroller this one night, just in case.

I would never have splurged on it myself, but I have learned to love it. Charles says it is the Ferrari of coffee makers. He'll walk into the kitchen and say, "Oh, look at that nice Ferrari parked in the kitchen." He is a dork. :lmao:

Oh, but a witty dork, that is okay!!!! :thumbsup2

Connor and Griffin should get along just fine. He informed me the other day that he was a cynic. At 12! 12! Seems a bit young for that. :rotfl:

I think that we can be quite sure of this.... Griffin will just be 10, mind you, but he seems to have similar interests... and it sounds like they are both major conversationalists, so chances are no one will get a word in edgewise!!! LOL!!!! :rotfl: Griffin has a similar sense of humor as well, that will be fun! Nolyn will be the shy one. That is, when he doesn't want to clobber his brother. :rolleyes1

My DH loves boiled peanuts, but I don't like them at all. They are kinda mushy & bland tasting, sort of like a lima bean. I do like limas, so not a good comparison!

Hi, you are going to love POR! We just got back from there...it is so pretty!
Did you book a Royal Room?
It suits you being a Southern princess.

Your kids are going to love the pool and did you know you are allowed to use the pool at POFQ.
Lexi loved the cool serpent slide!

Ahhh, Orange bird is awesome! I picked up the little cup, it's so cute.
We got the citrus swirl too, Yumm!
I actually have an old pic with Orange bird and myself. I think I was about 3 or 4 yrs old at the time.

I have always wanted him to return. I didn't see that print...:sad2:
I'm going to go and try to find it. Like Wig'd I don't know where I will put it but I have to have it!

Love those Disney cookbooks. I have picked them up several times but never bought one.
Have fun making some delicious stuff!

No Keurig for me...I don't drink coffee. I do think it's a very cool invention though.
I heard some people on the Disney bus excitedly talking about it and saying they were so happy to find the donut one in Orlando???
I guess that must be a hard flavor to get?

Hooray for the end of school!!! I bet it feels good to have some down time.

What a very, very, VERY fun DIS meet you will be having with all those wonderful people! I saw Anita post the other day about the 'Ohana reservation for 23 or something--what memories you will all have!

We recently bought a Keurig as well, I really like it! The coffee brews so much stronger so I drink less. So I also consider the Keurig a miracle worker. ;)

So glad your summer has officially started! Now you can spend lots of time planning your Dis meets. Y'all are going to have a great time even with the crowds.

So i am actually going to be in WDW july 2nd, 3rd & 4th! I'm pretty sure we are doing MK on the 3rd.... i think we may need to stalk each other!

Your trip is coming up fast! I am trying to get all caught up. I have been away from The Dis way too long. Although it makes me want to plan a trip badly. Hopefully I will make it back to read all about our trip!

~Kerri Lee

Hey girlie! Hoping that the summer life is treating you JUST fine! :D I am sure you are getting excited about your trip!!!

Shouldn't we be seeing some lists, or plans or something? Did we already see your cute Trip Binder? I seem to recall we did because I remember cute fireworks stickers.

No pressure.

I'm sure you're enjoying summer, shopping, packing, ...

popcorn::

I was :lmao: at Connor's comment! He is so funny!

He does make us smile.

I love the Keurig! I'm hoping to get one for my new kitchen after we move.

We are definitely spoiled by it.

Your Orange Bird print is adorable - so cheerful!

Thanks! I love that little fella!

School is out and the planning begins!:banana:

Yes, school is out, but I have still been spending a lot of time there doing other stuff. I don't really feel like summer has started yet.

Love the Keurig! And Connor's reaction. He would have said the same in my house though, my DH and I would stand there watching it make coffee for the first month we had it.

It is fascinating. LOL!

YAYYYY for 44 days!!

And now only 26! Don't know where the time is going!

Oh! The orange bird print is adorable! I'm too young to technically remember him, but he's so darn cute that I'm happy they brought him back anyway.

He makes me smile every time I see him!

It seems odd that school is already out for you even though my big kindergartener only has 3 weeks left until she will be a big 1st grader! Time flies!

Yes, it does! I can't believe Chelsea will be a sophomore and Connor will be in 7th grade in just two months! Gasp!

It's nice of them to end school so you can have time to focus on more important things like Disney planning. :thumbsup2

Very true!

Good for you for deciding on a go with the flow plan of attack. I'm not yet at a point where I can let go that much, but we are also lucky to travel at much less crowded times!

I think this may be the last time we go at a busy time. I am so stressed about it!

What's the deal with watching the Kureug?! I have to admit after we opened ours all had ot gather around it to watch it make coffee! :rotfl2:

We were as fascinated by it as families with new televisions in the 1950s. LOL!

First of all...congrats on the end of the school year!!! :woohoo: I'm counting down...just finished my evaluation and 3 more weeks to go! :thumbsup2

HA! Yes, please, take a photo of boiled peanuts... what on earth do they taste like? Hmmm.. Oh I dunno, boiled peanuts??!!

They are kind of slimy. I am not a fan of them. :rotfl:

That sounds like a very good plan! And I would definitely bring the stroller -- you do not want to have to try and carry a sleepy Nolyn back to the car. Uh uh! My arms ache just thinking about it!

Oh, but a witty dork, that is okay!!!! :thumbsup2

I can't wait to get them together! There are bound to be some laughs!

My DH loves boiled peanuts, but I don't like them at all. They are kinda mushy & bland tasting, sort of like a lima bean. I do like limas, so not a good comparison!

I don't care for boiled peanuts at all. Those and collard greens I will leave to other Southerners.

We have been enjoying those cookbooks.

I guess -- we haven't really tried all the available flavors yet.

Hooray for the end of school!!! I bet it feels good to have some down time.

It has been nice to have a bit more free time.

What a very, very, VERY fun DIS meet you will be having with all those wonderful people! I saw Anita post the other day about the 'Ohana reservation for 23 or something--what memories you will all have!

It should be a blast!

We recently bought a Keurig as well, I really like it! The coffee brews so much stronger so I drink less. So I also consider the Keurig a miracle worker. ;)

I knew, as a fellow coffee drinker, you would appreciate it. LOL!

So glad your summer has officially started! Now you can spend lots of time planning your Dis meets. Y'all are going to have a great time even with the crowds.

I hope so! Those crowds really scare me!

So i am actually going to be in WDW july 2nd, 3rd & 4th! I'm pretty sure we are doing MK on the 3rd.... i think we may need to stalk each other!

Yes! Let's!

Hi, Kerri Lee! So glad to see you on her again! I am thinking you need to start planning a first trip for your little girl! :goodvibes

How is your summer vacation so far?
I am super jealous! We still have 3 long weeks!

It's been pretty busy so far. I did summer school, CRCT retakes, and school improvement planning. I don't really feel like I have had a break yet. Yikes.

Getting closer and getting excited. :goodvibes

Me too!!!

Hey girlie! Hoping that the summer life is treating you JUST fine! :D I am sure you are getting excited about your trip!!!

Trying to -- I do get little gasps of excitement from time to time.

Shouldn't we be seeing some lists, or plans or something? Did we already see your cute Trip Binder? I seem to recall we did because I remember cute fireworks stickers.

No pressure.

I'm sure you're enjoying summer, shopping, packing, ...

Actually, summer has been school, school, school so far with various things. However, I am making money for Disney by doing it all. :thumbsup2

I am going to try and update today! That seems to be the extent of my planning these days. Oh, and I did make a to-do list for the trip last night. That's something. :goodvibes

Our second day at Disney World, July 4th, will be spent celebrating our nation’s birthday at Epcot!
AmericanAdventure.jpg

Again, not a whole lot of concrete plans for this day, either. In fact, I like to think of our plans as more of a to-do list.

So what’s on the To-Do List?

We’ll plan on getting to the park right at rope drop…

Good Morning, Spaceship Earth!
340.jpg

We’ll need to go visit California.
Soarin.jpg

Charles and the kids will be champing at the bit to design more roller coasters at The Sum of All Thrills. Pretty sure Connor will want to go upside down this year.
065.jpg

049.jpg

There is no Test Track this year, but I am sure certain members of the party will find their way to Mission:Space.
053.jpg

I am thinking lunch should be at La Cantina. I love that Mexican counter service.

And do I even need to mention that Connor will want to do the new Perry Adventure? You know how seriously he takes the Kim Possible missions, and he loves Perry even more.

In World Showcase there are some treats we need to sample. Let’s review those.

American Dreams. Fitting for the holiday.
AmericanDreamFloat.jpg

Gelato Sundaes.

Some Italian beverages.

We have a dinner reservation at Via Napoli this night.

And of course, the biggest draw of the day…

Fireworks! Fireworks! Fireworks!
EpcotFourthofJuly.jpg

The real question for me in typing this Epcot update is…

Will we be able to get through a day at Epcot without a meltdown?

The odds aren’t the greatest given our previous track records.

I have had at least two meltdowns in recent years.
June 2009: I had enough dithering about where to eat and shoved the map at Charles somewhere in China declaring, “You take over!”

July 2010: I was just cranky and out of sorts by the end of the night.

Chelsea had her own meltdown in June 2009 when I insisted she wear the extra safety belt on Soarin’ declaring that she wasn’t ever riding again.

Connor had his own meltdown in June 2009 when we cut off his Kim Possible missions.

Charles has had a meltdown in every single park, so, while the exact details of it escape me, suffice it to say, he has had his moments at Epcot. ::yes::

Can we get through a day at Epcot with no grumbling??? ;) We'll know in just 27 days!

Oh, and in other random Disney news, Charles got a new smartphone yesterday. Today he downloaded the wait time apps and entertained me with how long the waits were at the Magic Kingdom.

"Thank you, honey, for letting me know that the wait time at the Haunted Mansion is 45 minutes."

I knew of your legendary Epcot meltdowns, but I seriously did not know Charles has had a meltdown in EVERY park. I guess he wins the Meltdown game.:rotfl:

I am a little nervous about Epcot myself as I have been known to meltdown there (2009 when all my water bottles went flying all over the exit at Spaceship Earth and poor LJ almost reached into the moving grate to get one). :sad2: Not a good memory.

AT any rate I think you are already giving me an idea for a June TR title. :rolleyes1

That picture of the American Pavilion is so cool. I need one of those lens.

And can I just add that I was so excited to see an update tonight! :woohoo:

I just love a great bat signal!!! 45 Minutes for HM :scared1: That's crazy....I love that ride like nobody else but I'm not sure I would EVER wait in a line that long for it LOL!!! (but no panicking we will all be fine LOL)

Love your EPCOT day To-do list....and here's to NO meltdowns!!!

I guess I should get off of here and get to packing or doing laundry or something trip related!

He definitely wins the Disney Meltdown game. He has even been known to trump it entirely by refusing to leave the hotel room. ;)

Luckily, all the good memories do outweigh the bad ones.

AT any rate I think you are already giving me an idea for a June TR title. :rolleyes1

:thumbsup2

That picture of the American Pavilion is so cool. I need one of those lens.

I borrowed it from some other site. I can't take credit for good pictures.

And can I just add that I was so excited to see an update tonight! :woohoo:

I was excited to write one. I have not been able to indulge in writing for awhile. I have a couple of other updates I would like to do before we leave other than the daily plans. I hope I can squeeze them in.

I just love a great bat signal!!! 45 Minutes for HM :scared1: That's crazy....I love that ride like nobody else but I'm not sure I would EVER wait in a line that long for it LOL!!! (but no panicking we will all be fine LOL)

Granted it was at 2:30 this afternoon, so there is that. I keep telling myself that is the busiest part of the day.

Love your EPCOT day To-do list....and here's to NO meltdowns!!!

Fingers crossed that we can all behave ourselves. LOL!

I guess I should get off of here and get to packing or doing laundry or something trip related!

Probably, but DIS boarding is more fun.
