:thumbsup2You got some great souvenirs! I love the vintage postcards.

Your bracelet is very pretty.

I love the ornaments. I have a small tree I have put my collection of ornaments from places we have visited.

What a cliffhanger...where to next? I am anxious to hear your plans.

That bracelet is a knockout! I like things that have a palm tree theme. The postcards look so nice framed like that.

Great souvies - especially the cool postcards and the star fish santa.

Oh - and Connor's crab crossing sign!!!! :rotfl:

So - where ARE you going next? Is the Alaskan cruise in your future? Do tell?

Grew up near Charleston so name caught my attention, and greatly enjoyed reading.

Very cool report and souvenirs! I am SO with you about those suspension bridges ... even typing about them gives me that sick feeling! Ha-ha!

Just finished getting all caught up on the Tybee TR.

Everything just looks awesome! I wish I lived closer to see it for myself.
What a great summer vacation! :thumbsup2

Hermit crabs almost came home with us one year from Myrtle Beach....but my kids changed thier minds.
Too bad Connor's didn't live that long. They are cute little things to watch.

Love all the souvenirs! Anything beach themed is fine with me.
The christmas ornament is pretty.
The postcards are very cool!
Your bracelet is my favorite. ;)

I'm curious as to where you are headed next year....:goodvibes....is it WDW?

love all the souvie pixs...and yes I also LOVE the framed postcards and the wooden signs...so fun to bring alittle bit of the beach back home :goodvibes

Oooo....I didn't know Mary Kay Andrews had a new book out.

See, I come on the DIS, I learn something new. ;)

Glad to see your posted souvies, they all look like lots of fun, and I'm :lmao: over your dogs getting so excited. That's too cute!

What adorable souvenirs, Jackie! I love them all.

I have to agree with everyone else and say that the framed postcards are my favorite! :goodvibes

What cute souvies.

I know how you feel about that hat. I am sure I probably bought something similar and my parents cringed. :lmao:

I wonder where you are going next?:rolleyes1 Can't wait to hear all about it.

Old report is finished up and new report is started. Link is in my siggie.

I am almost positive there were clothing items I bought that made my parents cringe -- it was the 1980s after all. LOL! I wonder where we are going next, too.

I am a bit behind, but I love all of those souvenirs. Seems like your whole house is now decorated Tybee-style! I love the bracelet.

Thanks, Susan! Well, I don't know if the whole house is decorated Tybee-style, but there are a lot of reminders of that trip scattered around. :goodvibes

Love the bracelet that you got. And how cool to get an autographed copy of the book.

Thanks! Yes, I love autographed copies of books -- I have several of various authors.

I really like the post cards that you framed and I think it's so cool that Charles picked out two wall hangings!
Don't leave us hanging too long on the plans for the next trip!

Thanks, Anita! Charles likes to get his shopping on from time to time.

As soon as I know what our plans are, I will be sure to share. ;)

Your souvenirs are really cute - I especially love the vintage-style postcards!

Thanks! I fell in love with them and knew they needed to come home with me.

I love your vintage postcards! They are so adorable, I am such a sucker for vintage postcards and pictures. :goodvibes

I read Summer Rental this summer, it was very good. I actually just brought it to my Mom for her to read yesterday.

On our family Christmas tree we have a starfish ornament from Florida that is dressed as a snowman, it is VERY cute. I love your Santa.

I thought of you this week....the other day I saw a girl about Chelsea's age with one of those spray tshirts and I just chuckled to myself. :rotfl2:

I am a sucker, too, for vintage anything. LOL! I love all of Mary Kay Andrews stuff! Before she started writing her southern chick lit, she wrote a mystery series under the name Kathy Hogan Trocheck. Those are set in Atlanta and pretty good.

I adore decorating the tree with our vacation ornaments.

Those airbrushed t-shirts...what can one really say?

Fabulous souvies!!!! I love the wooden signs and the vintage postcards!!!

Thank you! Souvenirs always make me smile.

I love all of your souvenirs. The vintage postcards are great. And the bracelet is so cute.

Your Tybee vacation sounds like heaven! I love the cottage and how serene everything looks.

Can't wait to hear about next summer's plans. popcorn::

Thanks, Jen! It was very heavenly -- I would go back in a heartbeat. Now, I really need to start making some decisions about next summer, so I have something to dream about in the long winter months.

These are some great souvenirs! Love them! I like the signs, the santa ornament! TOO cute!! and your bracelet is nifty!!!! :goodvibes

Thanks, HD! You know I love coming home with souvenir loot. LOL!

Can't wait to hear what you have up your sleeve now...

I have all sorts of things up my sleeve -- well, possibilities anyway -- it will be interesting to see which one gets to emerge completely. I will say I was pricing points over the Fourth, though. :rolleyes1

How is your degree coming along??!! :surfweb:

Slowly...very slowly. I want it to be Spring 2013 and to be done with the blasted thing.

What fun souvenirs! I love the postcards; what a great idea to frame them! I'm buying a new house in Feb/March next year and since I'll have more beds & baths, I'd love to do a beach-themed one. :)

Beach-themed would be fun! Ours are just scattered around the house. That pretty much describes my decorating scheme -- scattered.

I bought my mom a Santa ornament that looks just like that one, only I got it in Hawaii...

Hawaii would be a fun place to visit! Can you tell I am in the throes of vacation indecision...

Love the vintage postcards, what a cute idea to frame them! And your bracelet is very pretty :goodvibes

Thanks! Fish Camp Cottage had framed vintage postcards -- that's where I got the idea.

I love the souvenirs Jackie. I also always get ornaments, wherever I may go. It's fun to pull those out at Christmas time and reflect back on your fun vacation. :goodvibes

Yes, it is! I love doing that when it is time to decorate the tree.

I love your souvenirs! What a great idea to frame your postcards! How awesome that you got a signed copy of the book too, nice splurge :thumbsup2

I started a PTR for a Jan/Feb trip too, here's the link if you want to come over and join

I love all of your souvies! Love that old time beach stuff..such a super cute idea with the postcards and wood signs, they all look amazing!!:thumbsup2

Thanks! Fish Camp Cottage was all decorated like that so I was definitely influenced by it.

Love your souvenirs...framing the vintage postcards was a terrific idea! :thumbsup2 It sounds like your vacation to Tybee was amazing and just perfect! Thanks so much for sharing it with all of us! :goodvibes And...I can't wait to hear where you're off to next!

It was! It was! The first step will be deciding where to go next. So many choices. LOL!

:thumbsup2You got some great souvenirs! I love the vintage postcards.

Your bracelet is very pretty.

I love the ornaments. I have a small tree I have put my collection of ornaments from places we have visited.

What a cliffhanger...where to next? I am anxious to hear your plans.

Thanks! I love vacation ornaments -- we just put them on the regular tree, though.

I am anxious to make some definite plans! :thumbsup2

That bracelet is a knockout! I like things that have a palm tree theme. The postcards look so nice framed like that.

Thank you! I love bracelets, so I have enjoyed wearing it.

Great souvies - especially the cool postcards and the star fish santa.

Oh - and Connor's crab crossing sign!!!! :rotfl:

So - where ARE you going next? Is the Alaskan cruise in your future? Do tell?

Thanks, Mary Ellen! We had fun shopping at the beach.

Well, you know me, I have about six possibilities for trips churning in my head. It's like the Wheel of Vacation -- I should just spin it and see where it lands.

Great souvenirs!! :thumbsup2 I especially like the framed postcards & wooden signs.

Thanks, Amy! It was fun shopping at the beach.

Grew up near Charleston so name caught my attention, and greatly enjoyed reading.

Very cool report and souvenirs! I am SO with you about those suspension bridges ... even typing about them gives me that sick feeling! Ha-ha!

Welcome!!! Thanks for reading! Did you spend your childhood driving over the old Cooper River Bridges? I think that is what scarred me in regards to suspension bridges -- especially on those windy days. In fact, I would hazard to guess that those old bridges scarred entire generations. LOL!

Just finished getting all caught up on the Tybee TR.

Everything just looks awesome! I wish I lived closer to see it for myself.
What a great summer vacation! :thumbsup2

Hi, Jordan!!! It's so good to see you on the DIS again! :goodvibes

love all the souvie pixs...and yes I also LOVE the framed postcards and the wooden signs...so fun to bring alittle bit of the beach back home :goodvibes

Hi, Julie! Thanks! It is fun to have reminders of the beach trip!

Oooo....I didn't know Mary Kay Andrews had a new book out.

See, I come on the DIS, I learn something new. ;)

Yes, you must read the new Mary Kay Andrews! It's a cute read!

Nala and Bella were so funny over those Beach Bum biscuits.

What adorable souvenirs, Jackie! I love them all.

I have to agree with everyone else and say that the framed postcards are my favorite! :goodvibes

Thanks, Lauren! I love those postcards, too.

Really love your souvenirs, you picked out some really really cute stuff!! Really like the postcards!!!!

For anyone who has read my pre-trip reports before, you know how I wrestle with indecision in regards to any and all vacation plans. I just have the hardest time making a choice about where to spend our vacation dollars. If I had an endless supply of money, I have no doubt I would spend it all traveling. It’s my favorite thing to do.

True to form, this year is proving just as perplexing.

I have several ideas, and I almost wish I could just put all the choices on a big wheel and spin it. Wherever it falls, that’s where we would go.

Here are my current ideas -- current because they could change by next week…or even this afternoon…or even by the time I post this…

Because I am taking classes to get my specialist degree, we are rather limited on dates.

We could go somewhere the end of May or over the Fourth of July (July 3 through July 8).

If we go to Disney World (and I am pretty sure I need a dose of magic in my life after everything in the real world), I would like to rent points (but where and who to rent points from???).

My top two places to stay on rented points would be Boardwalk or Animal Kingdom Lodge. I am leaning towards Boardwalk -- I want to have drinks at Leaping Libations.

Or sit in the rocking chairs watching giraffes.

Or we could skip a trip this year and save for an Alaskan cruise (hot chocolate and cookies while sailing through the Tracy Arm sounds pretty nifty) -- we would have to skip a trip in 2012 because the cruise and airfare alone would run about $7000. Connor is NOT in favor of skipping Disney World a second time. Alaska might have to go on the bucket list for a possible 2014.

Since my mom died, I have had a real desire to head to Disneyland because she loved it there so much. I remember her stories about going when it was newly opened with Aunt Jean and eating her first taco in California. I am leaning towards a 2013 trip there -- if I can convince Charles to go. The kids have never been, so I really think we should take them.

And then there are those lovely Caribbean cruises all my DIS friends seem to be taking. I would like to lie on the sand at Castaway Cay.

Decisions, decisions. See why I just wish I could just spin a wheel?

They all sound great to me Jackie! Don't pressure yourself too much, if you end up getting the chance to go on ANY of those trips, I'm sure it would make you happy in the end! :thumbsup2

A lot of great options Jackie! I don't think you could go wrong with any of them! :goodvibes

But I do think you need a dose of pixie dust in 2012! ;)

I think all of your options sound delightful! :cloud9: Whichever way the wheel spins, I'm sure you will have a marvelous time!

I've been thinking more and more about the Alaska cruise as well, I think it would be a great way to see that part of the country.

2013 for DLR sounds like a good plan, I believe all the refurbishments/add ons at CA will be complete by then :thumbsup2
