Does Pixie Dust Help with Decision-Making? A 2012 PTR! NEW! 6/30 pg.85

Hi Jackie! That cottage is so adorable! I was wondering - did anyone go fishing, since you were staying in the Fish Camp? :goodvibes

That's funny about the gummy worms:rotfl2:

Another nice relaxing day at the beach - I'll bet you came back so rested and refreshed! :thumbsup2
Looking forward to the dolphin cruise!

Oh, and congrats on your grades, BTW!:cheer2:

The horror! The gummy worm carnage!!! ;)

I can't over how cute and quaint that cottage is. It's like when I walk into a store and look at all those beachy things and think, those would be so out of place in my house, but they're not at that cottage! It's adorable.

Hey Jackie,

After a bit of an absence on the DIS, I thought I'd ease into some PTRs and yet where do I find myself but page 22...it's nice to know that somethings don't change...:goodvibes

Tybee looks absolutely charming...have to put on my ever growing travel bucket list...

...Love Chelsea's comments...you should hear Em some times...I feel like she has multiple personality disorder...(and I thought I had gotten totally lucky and we were just going to sail through the teenage years...) she is sometimes so sweet (mostly -about 80%) and mature and then about 20% of the time...it's like her body has been possessed by some evil twin sister...:confused3

It's also good to know that the Dis enabling still continues...it's like happy legal amorphous substance in the air...:cloud9:

Have to do some catching up on old trip reports...

P

btw-spend three days in Charleston back in March...lovely....

Okay, the owners of the cottage need to pay you for advertising (or at least give you a great discount next year!) What a great place. It is the type of place I'd love to own someday...(Darn, Disney obsession might derail that plan...)

Too funny about the worms - poor birds! Did Chelsea not want Connor to play on the beach? Poor guy.

I notice Chelsea reaching for her phone first thing in the morning, looks like some other teenager that I know

Love, love, love the pictures of the cottage! It's so cute, and perfect for a beach vacation

Oh, yes, Chelsea reaches for her phone first thing in the morning -- I suspect she falls asleep clutching it each night. LOL!

What a beautiful cottage Jackie, can I come along next year? :rotfl: Such a unique and well-fitted theme and just looks so relaxing!!!

I can't wait to spend some more time on Tybee!

LOL I wish I had heard that conversation too of course then I would have ended up making it into a science lesson LOL!!!!

Love the shells from your walk!! So beautiful!!!

Another wonderful day, thanks for sharing!!

Connor would have loved hearing the science lesson!

So...I really do hate to ask...but when do you head back I know you are an earlier start then us...hope you still have some break left over!

Monday for teachers, Wednesday for students. Not sure where the summer went -- I feel like I didn't take full advantage of it.

I really love the decor of the cabin, it's not things I would want in my house but for a beach vacation they seem just about perfect. I really adore the flip flop blanket, so very cute!!

That was my favorite bedroom! Ours was done in a lighthouse theme which was pretty, but Chelsea's was so cute with all the flip flop stuff.

The cottage looks beautiful! My DH and I go back and forth about a week at the beach. He grew up in PA and spent a week on the Jersey Shore every summer. I grew up and we now live in RI - "The Ocean State" where seldom a week goes by in the summer without 1-2 trips to the beach. SO it is hard for me to think about a whole week's vacation for a shore trip. Your TR is weakening my resolve though. It would be nice to just relax and all the seafood is killing me!!

It was a nice change of pace for us, but I think I will need a Disney trip before another beach trip. ;)

Oh my goodness! That beach cottage is perfect! My older sister used to live on the gulf side, beach front and that just takes me back to our vacations with her...
Now that was the life!

I can hear those gulls when they saw those gummies! MINE, MINE, MINE!!!
OH DRAT!

:lmao: Exactly. They looked a trifle disappointed.

So what did Connor think of the pizza?

The pizza was a winner with Connor. :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear about the Dolphin cruise!!!
Were the turtles nesting on Tybee when you were there?

Yes, Tybee has a lot of turtle nests this year, but we didn't actually see any of them.

The bedspread in Chelsea's room is SO cute! I love how perfectly it goes with the entire cottage.

Oh gosh, the seagulls thinking the gummy worms were the real thing is too funny. They do scare me b/c they ones I see at the beach are so fearless, but it is funny to watch them sometimes, as long as they stay away from me.

Birds don't scare me, but they way they swooped in was a bit jaw-dropping. They move pretty fast when they think food is involved.

Amazing, adorable!!! That is what came to mind when I saw the pics of the cottage!! TOO TOO cute!
And the ocean ain't half bad, either!!!

Looking forward to hearing about the dolphins and turtles!!! :goodvibes

The cottage was such a great place to hang out at as was the beach! I don't know which we got a kick out of more -- the dolphins or the turtles.

I love that cottage more and more! It is awesome. I love the colors and the decor. That sign with the definition of cottage is too cute and just perfect for you! :teacher:

I could have lived in that cottage as is forever!

I can't wait to hear about your dolphin cruise. I absolutely adore dolphins! They are so unique and smart, very intriguing to me indeed.

We learned so much about dolphins on the cruise, but sadly, I don't think I remember much of it now -- I should have written everything down.

Is this Connor's 'Ditto'?

Chelsea's actually. Apparently spelling is not her strength. ;)

What a cute quilt!

These critters are awesome!
That really was a cute place. Very much picture worthy.

I wish now I had taken more pictures. There were a lot of things I missed.

Glad you got that good lunch for a reasonable price. :thumbsup2

I am always comparing what I spend at a restaurant with what it would cost at Disney. LOL!

Love the LGM on the beach. We tend to take one or 2 when we travel. What a cute cottage!!

Thanks! Yes, the LGM are our constant traveling companions.

That is it! I am packing up my junk and moving to that cottage! I love the outside, I love the inside, I love everything about it! I espcially love all of the quilts and little retro-vintage signs everywhere. I wonder how long it would take for me to drive there....according to Google - 17 hours and 35 minutes!

That's not too bad! If you took someone with you, you could do it in one day and night. ;)

Was it you that got Disney gift cards for spending money? Did you use the Disney Visa points to buy them?

Nope, that wasn't me.

Errrrrrr - I am dying cause I can't see your picks right now, although the description of your day sounds so relaxing. Poor Connor! :headache:

That sister of his. :sad2:

:lmao: glad I am not the only parent who says those things....

loved the pixs of the cottage beyond adorable and so quaint and inviting i need to get me one of those chalkboards for my home :thumbsup2

the gummy worm story is too funny ;)

Oh, yes, I have to stay it quite a bit. The latest thing at our house is Chelsea gets really mad if Connor comments about anything in her life. Her standard reply is, "You need to stay out of my business." However, she is always making comments about Connor's life and it drives him nuts! Sigh. One day they will be back to being best friends, I hope.

I want a chalkboard for my house, now, too!

The cottage is just so charming! I love the decor.
Are you thinking of trying Vero next summer?

Nah, I doubt we will venture to Vero anytime soon. It looks adorable and fun, but it is a ten-hour drive for us which doesn't make much sense to me when we could go to Disney in only eight hours and Tybee in only five.

No fishing for us. Charles sometimes goes fishing with his stepfather, but he won't go on his own.

Thanks for the congrats!

Yes, relaxed was definitely our state of mind on that trip!

I know what you mean! I need a beach cottage so I can decorate it with all those cute little beach touches.

I am absolutely coveting that cottage. Idyllic!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was! I loved hanging out there!

Hi, Patricia!!! So glad to see you on here again! I know what you mean about Emily -- Chelsea is the exact same way! Great most of the time but she has her moments!

Oh, yes, lots of enabling still going on around here. :lmao:

Okay, the owners of the cottage need to pay you for advertising (or at least give you a great discount next year!) What a great place. It is the type of place I'd love to own someday...(Darn, Disney obsession might derail that plan...)

Charles and I have decided we want to move to Tybee and vacation at Disney. That's the best plan, I think.

Too funny about the worms - poor birds! Did Chelsea not want Connor to play on the beach? Poor guy.

She was honestly trying to be helpful and truly thought there wouldn't be any sand to play on since it was high tide. Sometimes she acts like a know-it-all without really knowing what she is talking about. :sad2:

Ohhh it's GORGEOUS!!! I love your cabin!! I'll have to add Tyber to my list of places to see. It's just perfect! And with Savannah being so close, that would be a fun day trip!

10 hours would be quite the drive. :scared1:

When are you planning on going to Disney next year?

Don't listen to your sister. I bet he took that to heart!

That cottage is ADORABLE! I'm always in awe of people that can decorate like that - all little eclectic things that go together and make sense. But if I try, it ends up looking like a flea market.

Yes, it would! We have already decided we have to make it into Savannah next time.

My cousin that lives on Tybee reported that the sea turtle eggs started hatching this week.

Ah, how fun!!! I hope all those babies make it into the ocean and live to be ancient!

10 hours would be quite the drive. :scared1:

When are you planning on going to Disney next year?

If the stars align correctly, I think we are going to plan on the beginning of summer vacation for us -- we like that end of May/beginning of June time.

Don't listen to your sister. I bet he took that to heart!

He tries, but he still really looks up to Chelsea (don't know how much longer that will last), and he is quite often taken in by anything she says to him. LOL!

:lmao: That's the way I feel about my house -- I fill it with things I love, but the overall effect is very much a flea market.

Your cottage is adorable Jackie! I bet it was hard to leave. :)

We certainly didn't want to leave the cottage or Tybee. I even had a bit of post-vacation depression once we were home.

[I LOVE LOVE LOVE the cottage!

Thank you! We loved it, too.

Oh Brook, that's me too! I like a little of this and a little of that. If I really want to decorate I have to put everything I like away, and just go for a look. That's what I did with my dining room. I like it, but it doesn't match the rest of the flea market that we live in!

The cottage looks so wonderful. Too bad Connor left his toys. Can't believe he actually listened to his sister. Too funny!

Can't wait to hear about the dolphin cruise.

That cottage just seems all too perfect!! The details and decor are so cute!

How far is Disney from Tybee? You and Charles may be onto something with that plan there. ;)

See, I look at other people's home where everything seems to go together, and it's gorgeous! However, I just can't bring myself to put away all the things I like. So, I am just going to tell people my decorating theme is Persian Bazaar and leave it at that. :lmao:

Thanks! One day I might have time to write an update.

WooHoo, my ME documents came today! Our trip is getting closer!

Yeay!!! You are in the homestretch now!

Thanks! Tybee is probably about six hours from Disney! :goodvibes

I can tell school has started back. :upsidedow

I know, right! :scared:

When I logged on this morning, it said the last time I had been on was Monday, August 1 at 6:30 am! That is unheard of for me! It has been non-stop for us since I went back to work on Monday. I hope things will fall into a routine soon, and I can get back to doing the things I love -- like DISing every morning! :goodvibes
