It looks so lovely & quaint!! How darling!! What a great start to your trip!!
Thanks! We thought so, too. I was kind of nervous about the place before we got there. It helped that a friend of mine had been at Tybee the week before and stayed in a different Mermaid Cottage called Flip Flop Cottage. She had raved and raved about their stay!
I have to laugh about Connor finding a stick. Lexi is the same way. While we were in Disney I would find rocks and leaves in her pockets at the end of the day. She would also put sicks in the stroller since they didn't fit in her pocket.

Tybee Island looks beautiful. I keep trying to tell my DH we need to move South pronto.
The South is gorgeous! I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Besides, I tell Charles we can't be more than eight hours away from Disney.
Connor is always collecting things.
It is SO adorable!!!! I want to move in there right now, it's just perfect.
It was perfect. Charles and I have talked a lot about moving down there once the kids are finished with high school in seven years.
We just made reservation for two nights on Tybee, to visit cousins, DH nephew(he lives north of Savannah) and SIL who is visiting son. Where is the best shrimp on the island?
The pictures of the cottage are adorable. I look forward to reading about all of the beach fun.
Hurray for a trip to Tybee! The best shrimp, we thought, was at AJ's Dockside Restaurant. More in the next update.
I have saved reading Mary Kay Andrews new book to read on the ride down to Tybee and on the beach. I felt Tybee would be a good place to read the book.
The perfect place to read it! Even though it is set on the Outer Banks, she references Tybee a couple of times which was neat.
If all works out OK we might try a week at Tybee in the fall instead of Amelia Island. I promise DH a beach trip this fall instead of Disney. It was a hard decision, but we did go to Disney in March.
I haven't been to Amelia Island, but I can say our heart belongs to Tybee now for beach trips!
Your cottage is adorable!!
I think for your next trip you should just let Charles decide when to leave, it seems he's always making adjustments to your plans!
Thanks! I agree -- Charles always does this to me as far as when to leave. What stresses me out the most is that he just wants to toss everything in the car, and I want to arrange it nice and neatly. He doesn't seem to get that.
Even though you are not at Disney, you are still representing your true Disney colors.
Oh, yes, I was wearing Mickey. I told Charles it was my silent protest. LOL! Connor was much the same way. When he packed his bag of stuff for the trip, I had to laugh after I saw what was in it.
1. The Little Green Men
2. His Toy Story soldiers
3. The Polish chicken my mom made him last year.
4. Three books.
5. Baseball Bear
That was it.
Very cute cottage, and as I told you a long time ago, I would have been staking my claim to the screened in porch. I really would love to have one of those going out to my backyard.
We spent so much time on that screened in porch. It had twinkle lights you could plug in at night and a ceiling fan. It was our favorite place to hang out!
I'd love to taking a walking tour of that area and go in so many of those cottages to see the decor.
I would love to do that, too. The house next door had animal print window boxes -- I was dying to see the inside!
Loving the trip so far, and I saw the cottage pics on FB, but I still love it! We did a beach house in Port Aransas, TX this year, and it sounds like a similar place and town to Tybee. We loved it! Quite a different, lower-key vacation than Disney, don'tcha think?
It was a lower-key vacation, and I think that is why Charles liked it so much. We weren't rushing from thing to thing.
Question - what is the meaning behind Chelsea's bracelet?
Chelsea had a very close friend, Rob, who died over Christmas break in a horrible gun accident. His mom had bracelets made for his friends, and Chelsea is always wearing hers. She rarely takes it off.
Such an adorable cottage!!! I think i want to move there too!
We did not want to leave, I can tell you that!
By the way, I think the return of the dragonberry colada is clearly a sign from the universe that you and Charles are meant to go to F&W!
That's what I said to Charles, too!
I just love that cottage

So cute that Charles decided what time to go and that it is his favorite beach town ever upon first look
And he kept saying it all during the vacation.
Sooo looking forward to the best shrimp ever

Tracy
It makes me hungry just thinking about it!
Ahhhhh, the ever elusive stick - so glad Connor was able to find one so quickly
He was very proud of it. LOL!
I have that same Mickey shirt that you are wearing, you must have good taste
That cottage is too cute!
You, too, have great taste!
