Does Pixie Dust Help with Decision-Making? A 2012 PTR! NEW! 6/30 pg.85

Such a cute place!!! I've got DH considering a trip to the Savannah area. It's on the ever-growing list of vacation plans and ideas.

:lmao:at Connor's stick!! My kids do the same thing - sticks, rocks, shells, worms...

Tybee Island looks so romantic and cute at the same time. Can't wait to read about your adventures.

What a cute cottage! I definitely need to visit Tybee.
Good luck with your presentation.:goodvibes

Not to mention so many other things I hold the DIS responsible for like Vera Bradley.

me too :rotfl:

The friendships I have made on the DIS have been the greatest thing about it, in my opinion! Not to mention, it helps to hang out with people who really "get" the whole Disney World thing. Not many people do in the real world. :(

:goodvibes

I agree -- there are worse addictions out there, and I wouldn't be able to scrapbook those! :lmao:

:rotfl: love it...I have a 3 trip book in the planning stages best pixs from Nov...then Spectrum Mom's in Jan and ther upcoming trip in Oct :thumbsup2

The begining of your Tybee report is great so wonderful how everyone just fell right at home immediately

I have to agree with everyone...your cottage was just so adorable! I so would love to stay in one of those some day!!

Love Charles' enthusiasm...LOL

Connor found a stick :lmao: That's awesome!!!

Best shrimp...must hear about that!!!

Since I am in eastern MA, we have plenty of beaches, but I would LOVE to stay at a beach cottage like that!

The Throne of Fire...I read that series. Love it :thumbsup2

That cottage is like the ones that I dream about staying some day!
Can't wait to find out about the best shrimp ever, loves me some shrimp!

I'm here late :) We went to Tybee during our lets go all over the world trip in a week back in 2008. We started our trip in Orlando and ended in Tybee. It was a beautiful place. I for one am not one for heights so I refused to go up those stairs to the light house. Chelsea sounds like my DD. She only puts up with Disney for my sake and going back to Florida. Waiting to hear more :)

That is the cutest beach cottage I have ever seen!

You cracked me up saying that was his excited face! :lmao: Why do men try to play like they are too cool to get excited over stuff like that??? :confused3

I would love to know though why he thought the beach was so great and Disney is just meh?? What's the psychology behind that logic? I mean it does look like a great place, but so does Disney. :confused3

I'm so interested in hearing more about Tybee...that cottage is just adorable! :goodvibes Looks like you are off to the start of a perfect vacation!

Mermaid cottages is going to have to pay you commission because now I want to go stay at Fish Camp! I love it. It is just what I picture when I read about beach cottages on small islands. What a perfect place to spend a week with your family.

Love the cottage!! I looked at Mermaid cottages already and I feel a trip to Tybee is a must in the near future!! Can't wait to hear more about the local food and entertainment.

It looks so lovely & quaint!! How darling!! What a great start to your trip!!

Thanks! We thought so, too. I was kind of nervous about the place before we got there. It helped that a friend of mine had been at Tybee the week before and stayed in a different Mermaid Cottage called Flip Flop Cottage. She had raved and raved about their stay!

I have to laugh about Connor finding a stick. Lexi is the same way. While we were in Disney I would find rocks and leaves in her pockets at the end of the day. She would also put sicks in the stroller since they didn't fit in her pocket. :rotfl: Tybee Island looks beautiful. I keep trying to tell my DH we need to move South pronto.

The South is gorgeous! I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Besides, I tell Charles we can't be more than eight hours away from Disney.

Connor is always collecting things.

It is SO adorable!!!! I want to move in there right now, it's just perfect.

It was perfect. Charles and I have talked a lot about moving down there once the kids are finished with high school in seven years.

We just made reservation for two nights on Tybee, to visit cousins, DH nephew(he lives north of Savannah) and SIL who is visiting son. Where is the best shrimp on the island?

The pictures of the cottage are adorable. I look forward to reading about all of the beach fun.

Hurray for a trip to Tybee! The best shrimp, we thought, was at AJ's Dockside Restaurant. More in the next update.

I have saved reading Mary Kay Andrews new book to read on the ride down to Tybee and on the beach. I felt Tybee would be a good place to read the book.:goodvibes

The perfect place to read it! Even though it is set on the Outer Banks, she references Tybee a couple of times which was neat.

If all works out OK we might try a week at Tybee in the fall instead of Amelia Island. I promise DH a beach trip this fall instead of Disney. It was a hard decision, but we did go to Disney in March.

I haven't been to Amelia Island, but I can say our heart belongs to Tybee now for beach trips!

Your cottage is adorable!!

I think for your next trip you should just let Charles decide when to leave, it seems he's always making adjustments to your plans!

Thanks! I agree -- Charles always does this to me as far as when to leave. What stresses me out the most is that he just wants to toss everything in the car, and I want to arrange it nice and neatly. He doesn't seem to get that.

Even though you are not at Disney, you are still representing your true Disney colors. ;)

Oh, yes, I was wearing Mickey. I told Charles it was my silent protest. LOL! Connor was much the same way. When he packed his bag of stuff for the trip, I had to laugh after I saw what was in it.

1. The Little Green Men
2. His Toy Story soldiers
3. The Polish chicken my mom made him last year.
4. Three books.
5. Baseball Bear

That was it.

Very cute cottage, and as I told you a long time ago, I would have been staking my claim to the screened in porch. I really would love to have one of those going out to my backyard.

We spent so much time on that screened in porch. It had twinkle lights you could plug in at night and a ceiling fan. It was our favorite place to hang out!

I'd love to taking a walking tour of that area and go in so many of those cottages to see the decor.

I would love to do that, too. The house next door had animal print window boxes -- I was dying to see the inside!

Loving the trip so far, and I saw the cottage pics on FB, but I still love it! We did a beach house in Port Aransas, TX this year, and it sounds like a similar place and town to Tybee. We loved it! Quite a different, lower-key vacation than Disney, don'tcha think?

It was a lower-key vacation, and I think that is why Charles liked it so much. We weren't rushing from thing to thing.

Question - what is the meaning behind Chelsea's bracelet?

Chelsea had a very close friend, Rob, who died over Christmas break in a horrible gun accident. His mom had bracelets made for his friends, and Chelsea is always wearing hers. She rarely takes it off.

Such an adorable cottage!!! I think i want to move there too! :)

We did not want to leave, I can tell you that!

By the way, I think the return of the dragonberry colada is clearly a sign from the universe that you and Charles are meant to go to F&W! ::yes::

That's what I said to Charles, too! :lmao:

I just love that cottage :lovestruc So cute that Charles decided what time to go and that it is his favorite beach town ever upon first look :goodvibes

And he kept saying it all during the vacation. ;)

Sooo looking forward to the best shrimp ever:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Tracy

It makes me hungry just thinking about it!

Ahhhhh, the ever elusive stick - so glad Connor was able to find one so quickly

He was very proud of it. LOL!

I have that same Mickey shirt that you are wearing, you must have good taste :thumbsup2

That cottage is too cute!

You, too, have great taste!:thumbsup2

Tybee has just made my short list! I can't wait to read more. Was the $160 before or after the educator discount?

The $160 was before the educator discount! :thumbsup2

What a sweet little cottage! :lovestruc Sounds like yall had a great start to a wonderful vacation!

We did! We did!

The cottage is adorable! Looks like a relaxing place to stay. The screened in porch looks like heaven!

Can't wait to hear about the yummy shrimp!

We all loved that screened-in porch! It got a lot of use during the week.

Such a cute place!!! I've got DH considering a trip to the Savannah area. It's on the ever-growing list of vacation plans and ideas.

:lmao:at Connor's stick!! My kids do the same thing - sticks, rocks, shells, worms...

The Savannah area is gorgeous! I love it almost as much as I love Charleston! ;)

Connor is always collecting things. I have to remind myself to check his pockets when I do laundry, and then I don't always remember to do so. I can't tell you the number of times I have had to stop the dryer to locate the rock that is banging around in there. LOL!

Tybee Island looks so romantic and cute at the same time. Can't wait to read about your adventures.

It was truly a charming place to stay.

What a cute cottage! I definitely need to visit Tybee.
Good luck with your presentation.:goodvibes

Thanks! I am ill just thinking about it. It defies my understanding that I can teach middle schoolers all day long without batting an eye, but the thought of presenting to adults makes me want to hurl. :sad2:

:rotfl: love it...I have a 3 trip book in the planning stages best pixs from Nov...then Spectrum Mom's in Jan and ther upcoming trip in Oct :thumbsup2

The begining of your Tybee report is great so wonderful how everyone just fell right at home immediately

I am so far behind on my scrapbooking. I still have to finish the 09 summer trip and then there is the 09 Food and Wine Trip, Chelsea's birthday trip, and now Tybee. One day maybe I will be able to find the time to pull it all out.

I have to agree with everyone...your cottage was just so adorable! I so would love to stay in one of those some day!!

Love Charles' enthusiasm...LOL

Connor found a stick :lmao: That's awesome!!!

Best shrimp...must hear about that!!!

Thanks! Charles was cracking me up with his enthusiasm, and Connor proudly displaying his stick was too funny!

Since I am in eastern MA, we have plenty of beaches, but I would LOVE to stay at a beach cottage like that!

The Throne of Fire...I read that series. Love it :thumbsup2

It was the perfect little place. I have more pictures of it later on.

Connor loves everything Rick Riordan has written.

That cottage is like the ones that I dream about staying some day!
Can't wait to find out about the best shrimp ever, loves me some shrimp!

It was just so perfect! We didn't want to leave ever!

I could live on shrimp!

We had planned on doing the lighthouse but never quite made it there. Next time!

That is the cutest beach cottage I have ever seen!

You cracked me up saying that was his excited face! :lmao: Why do men try to play like they are too cool to get excited over stuff like that??? :confused3

Charles is so stoic that I have to interpret his picture faces. He always has the exact same look in every photo. LOL!

I would love to know though why he thought the beach was so great and Disney is just meh?? What's the psychology behind that logic? I mean it does look like a great place, but so does Disney. :confused3

I think he liked the laidback atmosphere the best. He is not really one to rush from place to place, and he is not a fan of crowds. Tybee was just so calm and relaxing.

I'm so interested in hearing more about Tybee...that cottage is just adorable! :goodvibes Looks like you are off to the start of a perfect vacation!

Thanks! I promise to tell you lots more about Tybee. Probably more than you would ever want to know.

Love the cottage Jackie. Can't wait to see the rest of Tybee.:goodvibes

Thanks! Lots more coming up! ;)

Mermaid cottages is going to have to pay you commission because now I want to go stay at Fish Camp! I love it. It is just what I picture when I read about beach cottages on small islands. What a perfect place to spend a week with your family.

Thanks, Julie! Yes, I can not even begin to tell you how wonderful Mermaid Cottages and Fish Camp Cottage were -- they were just great! They have so many cute places to choose from. I have my eye on Sea Glass Cottage for next time. It's a little bit closer to the beach.

Love the cottage!! I looked at Mermaid cottages already and I feel a trip to Tybee is a must in the near future!! Can't wait to hear more about the local food and entertainment.

Thanks! Aren't the Mermaid Cottages just precious!!! There are so many I want to stay in! Lots more about local food and entertainment coming up. The nice thing, too, about Tybee is that it is really only a 15-20 minute trip into downtown Savannah, so there is plenty to do all around.

Chelsea had a very close friend, Rob, who died over Christmas break in a horrible gun accident. His mom had bracelets made for his friends, and Chelsea is always wearing hers. She rarely takes it off.
I'm sorry to hear that - that is so sad and so much for someone Chelsea's age to deal with. What a great tribute to him!

I am SO in love with that cottage!! We have seen the signs for Tybee driving down to Disney before, but man oh man, that cottage is adorable!! Did you take more inside pics of it?! Can't wait to hear all about your trip! :thumbsup2

Love the pictures so far!!!! Tybee definitely looks like a place I could go escape to anytime!!! :) Love the Disney tee....gotta channel your inner Mickey whenever you can! :)
