"Does Peter have to come to Disney with Us???"

I actually made myself a little list of all I have to post about....it's just getting the ooommmph to post. Besides what's going on with Victoria, Peter's father was taken by ambulance to the hospital on Saturday so we spent a lot of time this past weekend at the hospital. There's a lot of animosity between Peter and his siblings and their stepmother, so it wasn't always the most comfortable place to be. He suffered a minor stroke, a UTI and the infection spread into his bloodstream. He's feeling better, but as far as we know, he'll be in the hospital for another night. Prior to getting the phone call about Peter's dad, we went to the annual "10 mile Yard Sale" up in Skowhegan. OMG!!! I LOVE YARD SALES so to have 10 miles of them....oh, baby!! Heaven!!! And I only spent about $20!!!

Now as I've previously posted, I've been collecting Coke bottle caps for a long, long time. Well, I was able to get a one day free car rental with those points from Avis. So, on the day we will be heading to Sea World, we will be able to take a car and not rely on bus transportation!! The great thing is that they will actually bring the rental to POR for our use and also pick it back up there. Talk about convenient!!! I was so excited about that!!

I called Disney to inquire about their Haunted Carriage Ride at Fort Wilderness Campground and they are starting on October 1st, so I will be able to book that for one of the last nights we are there. I was worried because I know some years they don't start it until October 3rd or 4th. I am really looking forward to that!

I've started doing Zumba 2 days per week now. I love it! Now that dance classes are over, this is a good thing to add in. The only thing I don't like is that they offer it during the day at 1pm, so that counts as my lunch hour and I come back all sweaty. (yeah, my poor cubbie mates!!!) I'm still fat and I probably always will be, but I can at least be more active than I was. Speaking of fat, I am trying to scan my dance recital pics, but photobucket is saying it's too large. I'll keep working on that for you guys. The recital is this Saturday. OMG!!! I think I'm ready, but I guess we'll know on Saturday, huh? Peter is having fun dancing with Victoria. I'm glad. Those two are like peas in a pod!!

Our shed is just about done. It still needs the door and siding, but it has a roof and things can now be stored in it!! I do need to get some shelves up, too. We will be levelling out the ground to get the pool up hopefully this weekend if everyone stays healthy.

Well, you all know me and my bargain shopping, right? I needed to get a carryon because the one I have is too big and the one Victoria has is too small. So, I was at Wal-Mart and saw a rolling duffle bag in the clearence aisle. I looked it over and thought wow....this is a good deal.....regularly $39.97 marked down to......$12!!!! Yep $12!! And it's a 3 piece set!! I had bought it for Victoria but then went back the next day and got the other one that was left for myself. I even took a pic of the tag so you guys could see it.....

Yep, always thinking about my Dis buddies and how I have to share things!!! Well, I've got to go back to work as I've already gone over my allotted breaktime by 15 minutes!! :scared1:

OH, and yes, I did get both Pam and Janine's comments about how diligently I work!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Goodness, well it sounds like you have a great doctor looking out for Victoria's best interests.

What great deal for the car rental!! and they will deliver it to the resort--you cannot beat that.

Hoping everyone is doing well and is healthy!

Sorry about what's going on with Victoria. I know even though you know you have to wait until the next appt to know how things are going, it's still probably on your mind a lot. I hope everything goes well with that. Sorry about Peter's dad too. Sounds like you guys have had a crazy week. I hope this upcoming week is better!!!

Love the luggage and that's great that the shed is coming along good too!

I haven't been on too much lately either. The weather has been great. Yesterday it was 90. Woo Hoo!!! It's summer!!

Do you have any memorial day weekend plans? The weather here is supposed to be in the 80s. Sunday is my birthday cookout (My bday is today :yay:) and monday we're going to a the parade!

Sorry to have disappeared! Life is like that at times, kwim? Anyway- great deal on the luggage! :woohoo: And good for you for taking care of yourself just for the sake of health. I'm overweight and I am moving toward just not caring but I do care how I feel. I've looked into Zumba but we don't have anything around here- hopefully soon! Keep up the good work! :thumbsup2

Wow!!! You can really tell that summer is here as people aren't posting as much including me!!! Weather in Maine in the summer is awesome!!! 70 to 80 degree days, 50 degree nights -- nothing better!! You'll all be happy to know that the shed is completed except for the door. Peter was able to match the siding to the house, so it really looks good. I've been doing my part with building shelves and starting to take the stuff from the old shed and putting it into the new one! Yeah!! :cloud9: Peter's been working on levelling the land for the pool since this weekend. He usually gets home around 5:30pm and is usually outside working until 8pm or so. Yeah, I said "usually gets home".....I don't know when it happened, but he's living at my house now. We are still respecting Victoria's feelings and not sharing a room until we get married, so he sleeps in Victoria's room and Victoria either sleeps in my room or on the couch. It's funny as someone at work the other day asked me if he's moved in and I said "NO!" but really, his clothes are there, his motorcycle is there, he sleeps there and his mail is now being delivered there, so yep, I guess he's moved in!! :lmao:

I've reserved the rental car for our day at Sea World. I believe I mentioned that I got a one day free rental certificate from my Coke Rewards program --- one more thing getting us closer to Disney!!! I will also be putting $600 more down on my trip with next weeks' paycheck. :scared1: OMG!!! It's getting to be very, very real now! I also found a pink Mickey ears hat for Victoria at a yard sale for $1!!! I checked online and it sells in the parks for $20, so I'm psyched! Yes, it did have another little girl's name on it in the back, but nothing that a little patience and a seam ripper couldn't take care of. I do want to surface wash it up a bit and then I will put Victoria's name on it with fabric paint. Yes, I could embroider it, but fabric paint is so much quicker and easier....

mickeyears.jpg

I've also finished up my treat bag for MNSSHP. Mine is with Ariel -- my favorite princess. I'm just letting Peter use the Mickey one I had made prior to realizing he's going on this trip with us. I liked the way it turned out, but sorry....I don't have a picture of it. I've also been working on my too small wedding dress. I have the skirt finished, but I am now in the process of ripping the side seams out and adding fabric. What I ended up doing was buying a yard of costume satin at Wal-Mart for 88 cents!! :thumbsup2 That will give my plenty of material to work with. I've also printed out 30 of the 100 wedding invitations I will be sending. Just need to finish those up and pop them into the envelopes. I can always address them a little later --- closer to the date when I will be sending them out in July.

Our dance recital was a lot of fun and I've already registered for next September. Victoria is still undecided as to whether she will be taking lessons next year. It's up to her. It was funny to see Peter and her dance in the Dads and Dancers numbers. Yeah, Peter is NOT A DANCER!!! I kept teasing him and telling him it looked like he was having a seizure up on stage. I'm just impressed he was willing to do that!! A lot of men wouldn't!

Victoria's promotion at school is tonight. I cannot believe she is going into the 7th grade in September! OMG!! What I am very nervous about is that the 7th and 8th graders are in the same building as the high school. I just can't see my 12 year old being in the same school as 18 year olds. I know they keep them seperate, but still. It's nervewracking! They are also having a city-wide party/swimming at the YMCA this Saturday. That should be fun for them. :yay:

That's about it from here for now, considering I've gone on and on!

Yep, the boards are slow! I've been reading but not posting a lot. Love the pics and love the pink ears- great find!

Hello! I just started reading your blog there. Depending on where your reception is, the wedding coordinator there will do the announcing. That how it was for our reception, almost 7 years ago - "sigh". Our reception site was run by a husband/wife team, he did the announcing and she took care of things such as taking our plates to the table from the buffet, keeping our glasses full, taking care of the cake ...etc.

Hi Ann! Great deal on the ears! Are you going to post pictures of the treat bags? I am still trying to decide what exactly I am doing for it.

Sounds like everyone is just busy since the weather is so pretty most places and summer activities are starting. Which is good for me, because I know I am not keeping up with the boards as much! :rotfl:

Welcome to my madness, Kathy! I hope you are not getting too bored. Yes, I am now all set with the annoncements now that my dj is all reserved for the wedding. I am getting so excited!! I've been working on printing my invitations slowly but surely!!

Ok, Stephanie, I went ahead and took some pictures for you (and everyone else!) The treat bags are just simple drawstring type bags, so they are not really fancy, but they will do the trick. I also finished my Mickey head tie dye shirt, so I'm posting a pic of that, too.

Well, (and I'm sorry about this one Pam) I'm thinking about downgrading hotels back to Pop Century or All Stars. The money situation is getting really tight and in order to keep us at POR I would have to put $600 from each paycheck from now until August towards the trip. It's doable, but that gives me no breathing room in case of any emergency!! I've already emailed my TA to see if there are any Free Dining rooms left in the value resorts and I haven't heard back from her, so maybe there isn't even any availability left. I know Peter would be more than willing to pick up the tab, but he's already paying for the majority of the wedding, so I really don't want to ask him to do this as well. I also have to take into consideration that Victoria's summer camp is costing me $900 and I just don't see how I'm going to be able to do all of it. My 12 year old cat Rusty also had an emergency vet visit yesterday which cost me $80!! He has a hematoma in his ear and they had to drain it. And there's no guarantees that it won't come back (which this morning his ear is a little puffy again). There's really nothing they can do other than draining it. Ugh!! So, I will let you all know what hotel I will end up with soon. There goes my plans of going down the waterslide at POR with Pam in matching water wings!!! :lmao: Hopefully the TA will email me today. Hey, I could probably go on disneyworld.com myself to see.....maybe I'll do that. Ugh!

Well it's a couple hours later now....and I'm rethinking my rethinking of the mod resort. I believe that when I figured out the difference before, it was about $300 to upgrade to POR. Gee, for $300 to upgrade, I don't think that's bad and if worse comes to worse, I know Peter will help pay. Oh, Pam....where are you to bounce all this off of!! Oh, and Pam, I found some water wings at a yard sale yesterday, but since you said you were taking care of that, I didn't pick them up. I wish I could find my figures comparing the value and mod choices, but I can't. I know with staying at a value, we would have to upgrade to the DDP for $330 extra. OMG!! I am driving myself crazy!!! It will all work out, won't it?

I hope that you hear back from your TA so you can figure out what's going on! Hopefully there will be some rooms available at the values and it will all work out. Sending good thoughts your way! :)

AND THE DUMB **** AWARD OF THE DECADE GOES TO ANN!!!.......

for not remembering to put the wedding reception information on the wedding invitations. Now she will have to open up all the sealed envelopes and insert "reception info" cards.....it's either that or redo ALL the invitations I've already printed and I am so not willing to go through MORE ink and MORE cardstock to accomplish this!!! So, reception cards will have to do. Hopefully my guests will think this is another of my wonderfully creative ideas and not the total screw up it really is!!! :headache:  :headache:  :headache:

Are you feeling better about your plans now, Pam????

So, after having a total meltdown over the invitation/reception fiasco, I came up with an idea. I found a really nice clip art of a conch shell which I will use raffia to attach it to the invitations. On the conch shell cutout is the information about the reception immediately following. OMG!!! I just can't believe I did that! I spent about an hour last night cutting some out. I'm not finished yet, but I was able to pick up some raffia today at Michael's with a 50%off coupon! As soon as I get one or two made I will post a picture of it. I think it will look pretty nice, but we'll see. :thumbsup2

TODAY I PURCHASED THE MNSSHP TICKETS FOR THE 3 OF US!!! OMG!!! They were $57.46 each and $5 for shipping. I can't wait to have those in my hot little hands. Does anyone have a picture of what they look like? Is it a plastic card? Paper? Less than 100 days to go.....OMG!!! Pam's wedding is in 15 days. God, I wish she would post just to let us know how everything is going, but I know she's busy!!

I had the fill in my lap band totally removed today and I am so sore. Yes, the doctor numbs the area to insert the needle but boy, when the novacane wears off, watch out!!! I'm going to scream at my supervisor if he gets on my nerves today as I'm really hurting. :scared1: I know I could go home, but I'm trying to save all my time for WDW!!!! I just had finally had enough of throwing up and hurting when I eat. You know what, people......I'm a plus size girl and that's just the way it is......Love me or get out of my way. I'm 209lbs now and you know what??? I'm ok with that. Granted I would like to be smaller, but I know people who weigh 150lbs and wish to be smaller, so that's just the way it is.........ok, rant is over....you may resume to your normal blogging now........

I didn't take a pic of our MNSSHP tickets (shocking I know!) but they are a plastic card. They come in different colors and have one of the fab 5 on them. Nothing Halloween-y about them at all.

Hurray for self acceptance!!! I gave up dieting a long time ago and I exercise when I want to because it makes me FEEL good not because I'm trying to LOOK good. Good for you for deciding to FEEL better!! :cool1:

Hi Ann! I know I haven't been on in weeks!!!!!! BAD, BAD Diser, I know. I have been so busy as you can imagine. I have so many pictures to post on what we've been up to but I have NO time! I'm actually rushing through this post so I can get to the store before all the kids wake up.

We had the Emily and Lizzie's bday party last sunday, that went well. Today is Lizzie's actual bday along with father's day of course. We're having everyone come over to our house because we bought a pool!!! I"m on my way out right now to buy some chlorine and pool noodles. It's just a smaller one, it's 3 and a half feet deep, 13 feet long. It's a great size for the girls, and all of the adults. We just put it up yesterday we were in it until 8:30 with the fire going, it's great. We're never gonna leave the back yard.

Great find on those mouse ears, and glad your shed's done and the pool is being worked on. That's great that Peter's living with you guys too now. And SUPER great for the MNSSHP tickets!!!

I pretty much have everything done for the wedding, I have to pick my dress up this saturday, it's being altered right now. Still have to go get the marriage license, which we would have done last week, but my birth certificate is lost, go figure, so I gotta go get a new one first. and that's about it. Oh, I have to bring the DJs packet to them next week as well.

That's crazy about your invites, I could see me doing that. That's why I wasn't in charge of mine :rotfl:

OMG!!!! I am soooooo happy to hear from Pam and to know that all is well, yet wedding crazy! Now if only Janine would stop by to say hi, all my Dis buds will have checked in.

So, I've been working on adding a conch shell to my invitations with the reception info on them. And I took a picture!!! The envelopes I had already sealed were a little more sealed than I thought they were, so I'm not really pleased with how the envelopes look now, but it's ok. I really do like how the invitations look now and it really looks like this was the plan all along! Whew!!!

DSCF2484.jpg

Since today was Father's Day, Victoria had to go see her bio dad for a bit this moring. She then came home and we all went for a ride. I love to just get in the car and go. We also enjoyed a little shopping trip. During this trip Victora had to dress Peter up as crazy as she could, so thank goodness I had a camera with me for your viewing pleasure.....

He also has worked on the pool a bit more. Almost all the sides are now up (actually the decking part). Hopefully soon!!! It was in the 90's this weekend, so pool really would have been nice, but oh well. He'll get it done when he can. He's taking another vacation this week, so maybe this week sometime. Here's a pic of how it looks now....

DSCF2481.jpg

I know it doesn't look like much yet, but it will.

So, there's my little update!!! I hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

Hi All!! I forgot to mention in the last post that I have gotten my cake topper off of ebay and here it is......

mickeyminne.jpg

Gotta love it, right????

Ok, folks.....my counter says "2 MONTHS AND 29 DAYS"!!!!! IT IS NOW UNDER 3 MONTHS!!!! OMG!!!!!

I am so excited! I also read this morning that our buddy Karen has decided to dig in her heels, penny pinch and make her trip happen for January 2011!!! There are just soooo many things to celebrate today!! I also have to share that Peter and I have all the paperwork together and we are going to city hall tomorrow to get our marriage license! Yay!!! He states he wants to "get licesned like the dog he is....." Yeah, right!! He is the most amazing man ever!!! He's still working on the pool (yes, the seemingly never ending pool project) today until the thunderstorms come through. Goodness I can't wait for that thing to be finished!!!

Victoria started summer camp this week and seems to like it, which is good. At least they aren't allowed to bring laptops, so she actually has to stay PHYSICALLY busy during the day!! :woohoo: She also has her summer reading assignment to work on. They have to read and do a summary on 8 books over the summer. Her first book is Percy Jackson and the Lightning Theif and that thing is LONG!!! I make her read for 30 minutes every day and it's taken about 2 weeks to finish this one. I think she'll have to do one with less pages for the next book or else she'll never finish 8 books in 9 weeks!!!

Well, that's it from here!!!

My son liked that book! Is it day camp Ann? Congratulations on under 3 months!!!!!! How exciting! When is the actual wedding date? I forgot!
